While we will (probably?) never be wealthy enough to commission a custom yacht by a world class designer, seeing the mega yacht that Phillipe Starck designed for Russion billionaire Andrey Melnichenko has inspired to think about what would be important in the design execution. Melnichenko's yacht has many unique design features making it ideal for one of the richest men in the world...

Fun facts about "A"

• 390' long and made of steel
• The bow is super-sharp to cut through Arctic ice
• Rolls-Royce steering system
• Clamshell doors at the rear open upwards to release two 30' speedboats
• 6 guest cabins
• 37 crew members!!!
• Cost £200,000,000

If you were wealthy enough to commission a custom yacht, who would you hire to design it? Tom Dixon? Marcel Wanders? Paul Smith? Yves Behar? Maya Lin? Jaime Hayon? Tell us in the comments.
