If you're going to undertake a declutter
it really helps to know that somewhere out there is someone who needs or wants your crap. Bay Area professional organizer Andy Hartman
has done us the incredible service of figuring out exactly who.
Andy's compiled and posted a list of great resources, from how to donate your old wigs to someone who really can use them, to what to do with your old cell phone. This last one struck a cord, as we've been horrified to read about the environmental implications of all our discarded electronic gear. According to California's Electronic Waste Recycling Act, it is now illegal in our state to toss the following into the regular trash: "batteries, fluorescent lights, televisions, computers and monitors, printers, VCRs, telephones, answering machines, radios, stereo equipment, calculators, and cell phones."
Getting rid of your old cell phone the easy way just ain't worth a jail sentence. Check out Andy's great list here.
