Look what we spotted at IKEA Brooklyn over the weekend! The new ANGA modular shelving system pays homage to the still-popular Danish teak shelving of the mid-century era (just like the Clybourn from C&B). The system is comprised of posts that attach to the wall, glass shelves and drawer units...

The ANGA system is available in aluminum and white or black. We were especially impressed with the black version — it has a striking presence. The galvanized aluminum vertical posts even include a groove to help hide wiring and cables, making this an ideal system adaptable to entertainment needs. A small, basic combination starts at $270.

I could see using the uprights from IKEA - but I'd choose Wonderwall walnut cases from BluDot, and fill in with either thicker custom-cut glass shelves or Walnut-veneered shelves...
...but the cheap laminate cases don't do anything for me at all.
this would be really attractive in front of a window for a wall of plants.
I was reminded immediately of a similar, much more expensive system by Ligne Roset. For the Ligne Roset pricing, simply add a zero to the Ikea price and multiply by .75 ....
I loved this system until i used it. I really disliked that the drawer doesn't just glide open, you sort of have to force it open, which i guess is a result of their no slam drawer style that eases the drawer if you push it in, but then that didn't work very well. It was just a big mess. Still looks great though.
I just saw this in Brooklyn this weekend and thought the quality looked pretty good. They were not cheap looking at all. I have all expensivie furniture in my apartment and I would use these if I had the room. Sorry to hear the drawers were so painful. That is disappointing.
I like the Stolmen, which is similar, much more...
