As a child, I did not have pets, and in general, I get a little nervous with other people's pets (just a little). Perhaps, the absence of household animals growing up explains my affinity four furnishings inspired by animals. Here are five examples of animal inspired furnishings that I just adore. All of these examples are modern and witty, and I would love to add any of them into my dream apartment.

Shaw's Original Fir...
Haha these are funny. The horse lamp is pretty sweet.
LOL @ the horse lamp. I would use the lobster chair though.
Most of these are more creepy than whimsical.
I could live with the Lobster Chair, the Antler Lamp, and the Pig Table. I love the Octopus Chair and Horse Lamp as art pieces, but don't think I could actually live with them.
These make me think of furniture in the villian's home in Despicable Me. Bwahahah!
The octopus chair is CREEPY. That thing would give me nightmares.
No mention of traditional (and accessibly priced) items again - such as Elephant Ceramic side tables?

I am in love with the Lobster and Shelly chairs. Shame that I'll never be able to afford one.
The octopus chair is so Lovecraftian! The antlers look like an easy DIY-copy case.
I'd like to know how many of those octopus chairs they actually sold.
I love the pig table, but I think it'd be cheaper to just buy a pig statue/lawn ornament and glue a tray to the top. 200 bucks instead of 2000.
I just showed the picture of octopus chair to my friend and he said, do you think they sell a squid chair at Target?
Ooooh, I want one of those octopus chairs. Guess it speaks to the creepy artist in me.
I love quirky oddball stuff. I would love to have the octopus chair.
the octopus, pig and horse are just silly, but the chair and antler seem like something you might actually see in someone's home.
You know, it's crazy. Just the other day I was pondering the right seating for my "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" inspired sitting room...
I'm surprised that in the year of the rabbit you left out this great Moooi light, it's not quite as wonderful as the horse but it sure takes up a lot less space!

That octopus chair... I am in love. It's so brooding yet silly at the same time.
Ha! @ Sooso - I just forwarded this link to my brother labeled "Cthulhu chair." I really like that Lobster chair, though
I believe every living room can use an antler of some sort (real, ceramic, or otherwise.)
But on the other hand, I grew up in rural Minnesota and have seen more than my fair share of game rooms adorned with bison, deer, and fish mounts...
It's a fine line really.
agree with suzy8track
that horse is a party animal !
