Name: June Bug (due next month)
Location: Seattle, WA
Division: Single Room
Room Size: 70 square feet

Tip for Living Small with Kids: When creating the nursery I found that using favorite pieces we already had was essential in keeping the space uncluttered, so our daughter can grow into it. The room was originally an office so the bookshelf and card catalog were already there, as well as most of the art.

Biggest Design Challenge in this Room: The biggest challenge was making a small space feel light and airy. To deal with this we didn't bring in any new furniture except for the crib, and we used a translucent white curtain in the window to capture natural light.

Favorite Thing About This Room: I love the eclectic furniture. The bookshelf was made by my father and I used it as a child so it is nice to pass it along to our daughter. As a librarian I am partial to the book theme of the room and the card catalog is one of my all time favorite pieces. I am excited to see the types of things she collects and stores in it throughout her childhood.
