Anna Dorfman, the blogger behind Door Sixteen, shared her summer style with us:
Sun or Shade?: If it's below 75 degrees, sun. Above 75, put me in the shade.
The Color of Summer 2010: Black! Okay, okay...and yellow. And white, too.
All Time Favorite Vacation:
I'm not much of a vacationer, but I would really love to have a solid week off with full sunshine, temperatures in the 70s, and plenty of energy so I could get a bunch of house and garden projects done without winding up a gross, sweaty mess.
Alternatively, I could really go for a trip to Stockholm for Midsummer!
Most Refreshing Summer Drink:
A nice, cold bottle of Grüner Veltliner from Vienna.
• Vino: 2005 H.u.M. Hofer Grüner Veltliner on the Kitchn
Planted In The Garden This Year:
Creeping thyme! I'm letting it grow wild so it will fill in the cracks between the paving stones we just laid.
Essential Summer Song for Party Playlist:
"Can You Feel It" by The Jacksons.

Best Book in Beachbag:
Right now I'm reading Imperial Bedrooms by Bret Easton Ellis. It's the follow-up to Less Than Zero, 25 years later. Ellis's books have this feeling of hot darkness that I always associate with summertime.
Thanks, Anna!
More to come throughout June, July and August!

Shaw's Original Fir...
i loooove her blog. It makes me want to leave the city and head upstate like she did. Then I realize: neither my husband or I know how to do any of that renovation!
She's wearing sunglasses
but it doesn't look like
she's been getting any sun.
@Janel: Thank you for asking me to take part in the survey, even though I'm possibly the least summery person alive. :D
@MJade: Go for it! We didn't know how to do anything when we bought our house, either. All of our knowledge comes from the internet!
@t3d: That is an astute observation. (Is it also a haiku? Kinda?)
Wow, Anna, you're channeling me:
"I would really love to have a solid week off with full sunshine, temperatures in the 70s, and plenty of energy so I could get a bunch of house and garden projects done without winding up a gross, sweaty mess."
Amen (apartment only, though--we don't have a garden). However--since this is the hottest summer I've experienced in more than 20 years of living in New York City--we're heading to VT and Montreal in late August instead. Sometimes there's something to be said for getting away...
Love your blog, and thanks for sharing this.
She is adorable. Good blog, too.
t3d -- I bet she is a sunscreen fanatic like I am. I don't want lizard skin!
My isn't she a bit full of herself.
