Although this home is old (built in 1940!) and sometimes feels as if it's falling apart, there is a romance held in these walls. It is peaceful home, perfect for one mom, two children and a large dog. It is an upstairs unit nestled in trees. I love being able to leave the windows open, allowing all the light in (plus it feels like we are living in a tree house).
Three of My Best Tips and Tricks for Creating a Successful Small Space::
Always keep the curtains open, letting the natural lighting in helps to open up even the smallest rooms.
I prefer to keep most of my walls white. When having a small home (with two small children and one large dog), doing anything you can to keep it clean-feeling is a must! White, or light walls, help to open up small spaces.
Choose only the pieces (photos/art) you LOVE to put on the walls. I have a closet full of art, but that is to save for a larger home at a later date. Right now, in this small home, not overcrowding the space is essential for my peace-of-mind.
