I love that our entryway welcomes family and friends to our home. I love the bright red door and the long window that my daughters look through to watch their daddy come home from work. I love that it has space and light and has such great potential to function as an organized command center for our family.
Three of My Best Tips and Tricks for Creating a Successful Entryway:
1. Practical Storage Although I love many form over function furniture pieces, the entry needs to have at least one piece with drawers or baskets to contain all of the items that get dumped and dropped there. 2. A place to sit We have a low bench that's perfect for getting shoes on and off or setting out items that need to be remembered for an outing. 3. Something pretty I always like to have some fresh flowers in a vase and some pretty glass and pewter bowls and trays to keep keys and mail. A little pretty goes a long way in making an entry feel like a welcoming part of a home instead of a collector of clutter.
