Home and apparel retailer Anthropologie always has the most beautiful window displays around, but they have outdone themselves with the current crop of designs. A magical mood is created using inexpensive synthetic materials with wintery textures and simple mechanical systems.
The display team at the Rockefeller Center store made an ethereal "breathing" inflated grid system that is operated by industrial fans. In a nearby window, translucent colored plastic shapes are dangled by motors, creating a sparkling layered effect. A vintage parachute adorned with glittering tinsel is draped across another space, while an adjacent window is covered entirely in pieces of scotch tape except for one circle peaking inside at a frosty lamp. Finally, glittering streamers create a subtly-colored backdrop in a different area.
To see these windows and many more, visit the Anthropologie store at 50 Rockefeller Plaza for a holiday season treat.

White Enamel Four-P...
I pass by this store every morning on my way to work..and yes, they have one of the most amazing window displays!
At what cost to the environment. I doubt the synthetics will be recycled adequately. Sorry to be a downer.
Hmm, they don't look so amazing in these photos but maybe they are better in person.
I always love Anthro's window displays, but I agree the photos here don't really do them justice.
I haven't been to Rockefeller Center yet this winter, but the window displays at the Anthropologie in Chelsea Market are pretty great too - one of them is like a giant snow globe!

Here are some GREAT anthro window shots.
Their snow globe window at Chelsea Market is hysterical. The window fills up with snow, covering the mannequins waist deep. Then the snow is somehow swept away, and the snow starts to accumulate again. I LOVE IT!
at the rockefeller store there's a great window display with a door and tons of letters piling in through the mail slot - adorable! spent too much money there today...as always.
Thank you, Cei-face, for posting that link. Those are so incredible!
They have some pretty amazing window displays. As a friend of a former display manager for the company, I can tell veslabeachgirl that they do recycle adequately.
As a former 11 year employee of Anthro's, I can also confirm that they do recycle their displays!! Agree that these pics don't do them justice.
Peeking, not peaking. Sorry, but one day that mix-up is going to complicate someone's life.
