. We just got the new Anthropologie catalog
last night and were surprised to see the same changes that we saw at William Sonoma Home yesterday
- but with an Anthropologie
twist. It's all FAB, Directional, Baroque and comfortably traditional with a high color twist. It's like sheep.
Pulling from the retro colors of 50's England and France, fall colors are going deep and strong (a la Mary Grand Pre drawings). Mood is relaxed and cluttered (a la Harry Potter style).
We loved the tacky Louis IV wallpaper and detailing on the doors, the akilter and dripping chandeliers, the gold, and the large scale mirrors. It's sort of Las Vegas. If it were all black, it would be Philippe Starck.
We also saw a very nice mirrored side table ($1298) and leather chair ($1988). How is it that their furniture price points are totally different from their clothing? MGR
