- What I Love About My Small Home:
- I love its charm, its classic elements and the layout. The house has original shoe molding, crystal door handles and has been refinished with black and white tile, giving it a retro flair. Despite its 'studio' label, the layout has the kitchen and living areas separated by a hallway, giving the illusion of completely different rooms.
- Three of My Best Tips and Tricks for Creating a Successful Small Space::
- Highlight amazing moments in your space. There are pros and cons to living in any house but, capitolizing the good it can help you forget the bad. My kitchen has amazing natural light in the morning so, I decided to tuck a lounge chair next to the fridge to create a reading nook.
Create zones that are essential to how you live. Your home should reflect and cater to your daily activities. I don't watch much television so I decided against an entertainment system and made a recording studio area instead.
Surround yourself with things you aboslutely love. The little space that you have is precious so fill it with things you cherish. Don't clutter a room with multiple choices of mediocre pieces- instead have a few items that hold their own, fulfill their purpose and make a beautiful statement. And... if you cant find it- make it! My brother and I created my dining table and headboard for that very reason.
