Q: I would love to find a pair of these chairs. They were on Craigslist a while back, but I didn't get any information written down about them. Does anyone know who the manufacturer is, or where I could find some?

Great chairs! I can’t give you a definite attribution, but these look like they were inspired by Kem Weber designs from the 1930s. But most of the Kem Weber items that I’ve seen are chromed and retain the rounded edges of the tubular steel… these frames are more like Emeco chairs (squared off and not chromed). I’ve never seen an Emeco lounge chair, but that’s not to say they don’t exist.
In any case, if you like this style, you can look for keywords of Kem Weber, Lloyd (a manufacturer that produced his designs), Emeco, streamline, moderne, chrome, deco, steel. This style is collectible, but you can still find decent deals if you look.
I believe that those were most likely manufactured by Goodform (General Fireproofing Company) of Youngstown Ohio.
They're just beautiful - really nice nautical feel to the back legs as they curve down. I'll definitely snag one if I ever see one.
By the way - I knew that name sounded familiar, Haruki; here's a shot of their factory in Youngstown, abandoned since 1989...

It looks almost identical to our Royal Chrome couch. Different color, but same frame style.
Great looking chairs!

I have seen those chairs at the flea market and coveted them! Don't remember the name, though, more's the pity. They look like pilot's chairs to me.
wow those chairs are really cool. if an emeco navy chair was feeling lazy, i feel like this would be it!
Hi, these were made by EMECO, I have a couple of the couches and chairs. I contacted them a few years back and they confirmed that they were made for primarily military lounge use. Mine are marked with a army hospital stamp on the bottoms. If you want more info feel free to contact me mmillerr@hotmail.com
