My mom found this basic, comfy armchair on craigslist and gave it to my husband and me as a gift. It's become everyone's favorite spot in the apartment, especially our dog's. Placed in a sunny spot that faces the window, it's a great place to sit and read or work on the laptop...

It replaced a stylish, but not-so-cozy orange shell chair that moved into our guest room/home office. The armchair holds up well against Otto's daily use, and the upholstery color blends well with the small amount of fur he sheds. It's not the flashiest piece of furniture, but we've come to love its sturdy, unassuming presence in our place. To add a little more color to our living room, we're looking into another comfy option: pillows and throws.
Do you keep one or two comfy armchairs in your living room, are you the type that prefers high-style side chairs, or do you mix and match?

there is a super comfy oversize leather arm chair at crate and barrel that my girlfriend and i both love. we are saving to get it for ourselves. it does cost twice as much as our couch though... *sigh*
Love the greyhound!!!
Love, LOVE, Otto.
(don't they call them 40 m.p.h. couchpotatoes?)
Otto is spectacular. (The chair is nice too.)
Wow; this chair looks exactly like a chair that I got from my grandparents-the fabric was kind of tweedy feeling-it had a matching ottoman-sadly it was destroyed while in storage (leaky storage); it was such a comfy and lovely chair, my fav for watching Godzilla re-runs on a lazy saturday....
Love Otto, BTW!
sorry to do this but it's "gave it to my husband and *ME* as a gift", not "my husband and I".
if you're not sure, omit the "my husband and" part and see what makes sense.

I was showing this to my husband and he pointed out that, in the second picture, you can see a perfectly nice dog bed just off to the right. (We have a spoiled brindle greyhound who likes our furniture too.)
Love the dog. Love the chair. The bad grammar makes me cringe! I is subjective; me is objective.
I've got a very beat up, but very very comfy armchair and ottoman in my LR. I got a new IKEA chair - a Poang - with the intention of getting rid of the old one. But, guess what? It's still there. The Poang looks a zillion times better, but my cat and I like the old one. And the LR is too packed now because the Poang also has a foot stool. I'd at least like to get a smaller armchair, like yours, and one that didn't have the upholstery bursting.
Otto is a big sweetie. I like that phrase - 40 mph couch potato. I've heard these dogs are like big kittens.
The Siesta chair & ottoman ,you can buy one in a good condition and at a very reasonable price if you keep an eye on Ebay ,CL and garage sales .I got 2 of them through CL,one in black leather without the ottoman in an excellent condition..it cost me only $20 ,the other one is orange leather with teak and with the ottoman ,it cost only $125(I'm telling you the prices bcoz I have seen these chairs in antique stores with ridiculous price tag, please dont over pay).
About the chair:It is extremely comfortable unless someone is short ,my sis is 5.2 and she hates it :P

Thank you ratita. People with bad grammar shouldn't have writing jobs.
at least she didn't say "our husband and us"
he looks cute sitting in that chair. aw...look at those big paws.
Grammar dorks: stop drinking the haterade.
