What's your schedule looking like next Wednesday? Since Maxwell will be in town, we're considering holding a little get-together in downtown San Francisco. We can talk about the Fall Cure (with the man who invented it!) and perhaps there will even be some book-signing. We're thinking of holding this hypothetical gathering on September 12, 5:30-7:30pm.

Why downtown?
ooh it's Rosh Hashanah *and* Ramadan... sounds like fun!
MamaChilanga - The exact location hasn't been determined yet, but we were thinking of meeting in an area that people might already be near (if they work downtown) around. Plus it's accessible by public transportation. We're leaning more towards Jackson Square than Union Square.
works for me.
I will oh-so-happily join the party...if at all possible, would definitely prefer something within a short-ish walk from BART.
awesome. I'm seconding the near BART (or a major bus line) motion.
Stuck in the South Bay, alas-- SF meetups, especially on weeknights, are not a thing that works right now.
Strata Chalup, that's why I'm doing the dance of joy over finally losing my South Bay commute to a job downtown... happy hour can finally be mine. Sighs of relief abound.
Yes, yes! I'm in! Downtown would be great for me, although I might be a little late. Would that be a problem?
jeaninesw: if it happens, it'll be a low-key event. so you don't have to be there at 5:30pm sharp. we'd love to hang out with you (and everyone else) whenever you all can get there. (and "there," is still tbd.)
Something closer to Bart would be easier for those in the EB. Jackson Square is really only reachable by bus if you are taking public transportation.
I also vote for close-to-BART! I'll be coming from Oakland. ;)
Is this happening?
mamachilanga - yep! we just secured the venue (dwr on jackson st). and the gathering will be held from 6-8pm. hope to see you there!
