DEADLINE: Friday, June 1st!
We're looking for a few good... bloggers. Are you passionate about design and the joys and challenges of modern homelife with children? Are you an excellent writer and skillful photographer? Would you like a place to share your ideas and inspirations with a large design-centric community? If this is you, jump below for the details. WHAT IT IS: Apartment Therapy Family is looking for new, fresh voices to join our team as bloggers. This is paid freelance work for 2-3 posts per week.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Contributors who believe in our mission of: "Helping people make their homes more beautiful, organized and healthy by connecting them to a wealth of resources, ideas and community online."
We are looking for general contributors as well as contributors specifically interested in: design news (and news that relates to children and the home), design history (as it relates to children's decor, furnishings and toys) and kids' parties.
• a good eye for design and a good eye for photos
• strong blog-style writing skills (smart, concise, positive and with a firm handle on spelling and grammar)
• a digital camera and excellent photography skills
• a good, fast computer
• a reliable high-speed internet connection
• Photoshop or Photoshop Elements
Apartment Therapy Family is about design and homelife with children. We do not cover fashion, clothing, celebrities (unless they have a killer nursery), or recipes. (We leave the cooking to our sister site The Kitchn.)
Friday, June 1st, midnight PST (earlier is always appreciated!). We will confirm your submission by email and then review, asking our top choices to try out live on the blog before we make our decision.
We welcome applications from anywhere in the world. You need not be a U.S. resident.
HOW TO APPLY:
The link to the application form above will ask for the following information:
• Your name and contact information
• Where you live
• How long you have been reading Apartment Therapy
• What you do in the offline world
• Special areas of interest/column ideas
The form will also ask for 3 specific sample posts with text and pictures. Please submit posts written specifically for this application and not for your own or another blog. We want to see samples that reflect your understanding and focus for Apartment Therapy Family specifically. Look to Apartment Therapy for the general style and format of posts for submission.
