People Signed Up: 270
This Wednesday a very big experiment kicks off - hundreds of people are going to meetup all around the world and share their love of home design in the Apartment Therapy spirit. Right now there are many groups that need at least one more person to join and many that need a location or organizer. I urge you to join us on Wednesday, wherever you are by clicking here and finding an Apartment Therapy meetup group near you.
After two years of wanting it, Scott Heiferman and his crew at Meetup have finally delivered the goods: a really simple, attractive and free app that allows Apartment Therapy readers to find one another and form meetups anywhere in the world: Apartment Therapy Meetups Everywhere starting Wednesday, June 9th.
All you have to do to start the process of forming a meetup is to say that you're interested in having one near you. You can join a city that we've already added or add your own. If enough folks are interested, you can choose a location and meet. It's that simple. One person can even volunteer to be the organizer to help the process along.
What will we talk about?
Since starting Apartment Therapy as a design service in 2001, I've always had a strong conviction that the tools we need to keep our homes beautiful, healthy and organized lie in our surrounding community. Not only are the services and stores that surround us instrumental, but so can the folks with a similar interest in design and improving their home be as well. That's what I've seen in New York, where we've been holding meetups for two years - lots of people turn out to network and share problems and inspiration.
So, go take a look, voice your interest and join us on June 9th, when we all meetup at once!
What About our Regular NYC Meetup?
While Meetup has yet to link the two systems together, you will note our original New York Meetup is here:
While there is also a new one on the Meetup Everywhere page:
Please feel free to say your interested in the NY meetup on the everywhere page, but be sure to sign up over on the regular old link. The two will soon be merged.
