• Austin Design Riot • Thursday, Oct. 20, 6-9pm • @ Threshold Furniture & Design Studio Austin residents will be able to celebrate all things Austin design when the first ever Austin Design Riot event premieres October 20th from 6 - 9pm at the awesome downtown Austin store Threshold Furniture and Design Studio. The event will feature free drinks, giveaways, a scavenger hunt and best of all—four fabulous Austin design speakers!
This event at Threshold Furniture and Design studio is to highlight all the amazingly spectacular interior design, architecture, furniture design and more that exists in Austin and has been picking up speed these past few years. Austin's lucky to have a ton of talented designers, as well as a lot of stylish clients, homeowners and apartment dwellers who are totally interested in design. Speakers are: Trent Hultgren, a former HGTV Design Star contestant and interior designer (and feature of an Apartment Therapy house tour); Murray Legge, lead architect at LZT Architects and an architecture rock star; Veronica Koltuniak an interior designer and furniture re-designer and last but not least Sharon Radovich, owner and interior designer at Panache Interiors. Along with being sponsored by Apartment Therapy, local online publication CultureMap also lends its help and talent, and will be on hand to showcase all their Austin design stories since launching earlier this year. Not only will you have fun at the event, you'll walk away with something! Three lucky folks will win one of three of Apartment Therapy's Big Book of Small, Cool Spaces, signed by Apartment Therapy founder Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan and one person will get the chance to take home a Masters Chair from Kartell! And the first 100 folks to make it to the event will leave with a gift bag full of goodies. No one will leave empty-handed, though; all speakers will talk a bit about themselves and designing in Austin, but they've also been tasked with giving away an Austin design secret!
