Apartment Therapy Walks the Island (like tourists...)

Hoofer's delight. Yesterday, as we experimented further with getting to know the city and simple delights, we walked from one tip of Manhattan to the other - entirely along Broadway.

Friends joined us along the way, but only one friend met us at the Christopher Street subway at 9am to start the train ride (with coffee and paper) up to 220th Street in Inwood, where we started by looking down from the Broadway Bridge that crosses over into Riverdale.

(set timer for 1 second, and hold on. Pictures being added all day)

8 hours later, after lunch in the park, watching the Marathon, the Naked Cowboy and countless conversations that sped the trip through crowded and uncrowded streets, we saw the Statue of Liberty and proclaimed ourselves Done. It was only 6pm.

It is very important to physically get to know your city - all of it - and doing a walk like this is a good start (running the marathon is another!). (Thanks, Annie, Elizabeth, John, Jasie, Oliver, and Sara!) MGR
