In the midst of all of the hype of Apple's Let's Rock event, you might not have noticed this nice addition to the Apple product line: a pair of premium in-ear headphones that have an integrated subwoofer and a tweeter. What's so nice about these? Well, there is the fact that they will only cost $79.
Earphones with dual drivers (woofer + tweeter) are something that you rarely see on sub-200$ headphones. The Apple in-ear headphones have a built-in mic and a remote. The only bad news is that these two features only work with the new generation of iPods that were launched today.

Strange that these additional features aren't supported on the iPhone. It looks like it uses the same 4-conductor plug, so I would guess that at least the microphone would work with an iPhone, and hopefully at least one of these buttons could be used as the current iPhone headphones button is used now.
