Apple Remote App Finally Gets An Update

Apple seems to be having a number of "hobby" projects these days. While neglected, these side projects have come to be infinitely useful for us at times. Apple Remote App for the iPhone/iPod Touch is one of those things. Luckily, with the recent announcement of AirPlay (AppleTV's audio/video local streaming feature), the App finally received a glossy re-vamp, optimized for retina displays and multiple library shares.

If you've got an iPod Touch, iPad, or iPhone laying around and still haven't downloaded the Remote App, download it now. Not only can you access and control your iTunes libraries form anywhere in your house that has Wi-Fi, but you can even create playlists right from your device without ever having to touch a computer.

The new Remote App is available for free at the iTunes App store.
