Call me a hipster, but there's something so... dull about brand-new tech gear. Don't get me wrong—the new stuff is sleeker and shiner than ever, but there's always so much more character to older devices. So I'm totally on-board with this DIY project: hide a modern device inside a broken vintage find.

This is literally a Time Capsule in a time capsule, the Apple backup device pictured here truly lives up to it's name. Created from a flea market find by Rainer Roesing of Core Since Eighty Four, this clever DIY masks the Apple Time Capsule with an old-school tape deck.

All the neccessary ports on the Time Capsule are completely accessible from the back side of the tape deck.Besides looking cool, Roesing hopes that the new face on his gear will help thwart any would-be thieves.

Would you do something like this to camouflage your gear? Or do you prefer the sleek aesthetic of brand-new modern tech? Share your thoughts in the comments!
