To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Arne Jacobsen's Series 7 chair, Fritz Hansen asked seven architects to reimagine the classic.

Bjarke Ingel's firm BIG imagined the 1955 plywood chair as a stack, with springs in between the layers (above). Our favorite might be Neri & Hu's modernist take on the tete-a-tete (below).

The other participating architects include Zaha Hadid, Carlos Ott and Carlos Ponce de León, Jean Nouvel Design, Jun Igarashi, and Snøhetta.

The chairs will be on display for London Design Week in September.
