We got the new Architectural Digest
and while we usually just flip through the pages and laugh at the absurd over- indulgence,
we were hit with nostalgia over the Mario Buatta cover story (he was the first designer we new by name and admit to much imitation in the late 80’s).
While the Scalamandre fabrics and the flowered chintz still contrast and clash in signature Buatta style, the color combos are so shocking, that we have to tip our hat to Mr. B, especially while we look at color here at Apartment Therapy and its many uses in design.
Not that we'd ever want to live in a Buatta world, but when it comes to color (and, of course pattern) he is a mad genius.
