These amazing vacation rentals were all designed by world-class architects. Perfectly situated in gorgeous landscapes, these homes from architects like Frank Lloyd Wright and Albert Frey make you want to escape your daily routine. Even though most of us won't ever hold the title to one, we can reside in one for a few days!
I don't know which view is more beautiful. The view from the outside looking in, or the view from the inside looking out.

White Enamel Flatwa...
Another amazing FLW house one can rent is in Northeast Ohio, just outside Cleveland. My parents, my husband, and I stayed there for several days -- my great grandfather was a draftsman for FLW, and we are all huge fans. It's a beautiful house with beautiful scenery (hiking trails along the Chagrin River - we went cross country skiing)... so relaxing and amazing to actually stay in a FLW house with original furnishings after visiting so many others! It really allows you to see just how functional everything is and how wonderful he was at planning and maximizing small spaces! If you're ever in the area or passing through, you should check it out, although it's usually reserved almost a year in advance. Oh! And they're building a second house on the property as well -- FLW designed another house to be built with Chagrin River rock, but the house was never built. They are the only un-built FLW plans with the original site still available (so important to his design!). It will also be available for rent, and they're planning on eventually building a "national center for sustainable design" on another area of the property, which will have classrooms and a visitor's center. Yay NE Ohio! :)

noting this post for future reference... living in a place like one of these (even if only for a little while!) is on my "list of things to do"
There is also the Baldwin House, on a lake in Burnaby BC (suburb of Vancouver). It was designed by world famous architect Arthur Erickson.

It was completed in 1965 just as he and his partner finished Simon Fraser University.
Among the many buildings he designed are the Canadian Embassy in Washington, Fresno City Hall, Biological sciences building at U of Calif, Irvine.
Thanks for taking a look at Boutique-Homes.com. In response to SCANDICLEVELANDER: you can rent the Penfield House through our website, as well! Check it out here: Penfield House
Also, we just got 2 brand new RM Schindler designed properties in the heart of Los Angeles. They're historical landmarks but they rent for less than $300 a night. Solid!
Another FLW residence available for rental by the public is the Seth Peterson Cottage on Mirror Lake in the Wisconsin Dells north of Madison. You can rent it through the same website chicnomad just mentioned

or through the conservancy which owns it:
