Great find! The angle of the arms seems different (the arms on your chairs are more rounded), but that wouldn't keep me from enjoying them. Very sculptural.

From the pics I'm looking at, maybe not. On your chairs the head rest twists out as they become the arm rests. On the Smile chairs I'm looking at there is no twist. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean the design didn't change at some point. Also, Wally's right, enjoy them no matter what. They're FABULOUS! I actually like your chairs better (I like the twist)!

I'm not a furniture expert, but to me there are enough differences to make it look like a knock-off rather than an authentic chair. The fabric color, shape and twist (or tilt, as I see it) are quite different from those found on originals.

It doesn't look like current production, but who cares? I'm with Wally; I think the twist gives you a lovely arm rest not present in the current version. Congratulations on a great Craigslist score!

I don't think they are a knockoff. A knock off would have been more similar (if that makes sense). But I do think they are a really cool chair. I like them better than the current ones.
