Last week, Bravo premiered 9 by Design, a reality show based on the life of a husband and wife designing duo, Bob and Cortney Novogratz of Sixx Design, and their seven children. I definitely caught the series premiere (and might have watched it again when Bravo replayed it this weekend). Did you watch?

Is anyone on Ohdeedoh as shocked as I am about all of the offensive comments on AT?
Watched it and loved it!
simplist, i did think the posts were a bit extreme. unless they were all vegan rawist, bicycle riding, recycling, water conserving, non-breeding, other wise beyond reproach perfect people, i thought the comments were over the top.
7 is a lot of kids; no denying that.
so far i enjoy the families aesthetic and parenting style.
Jsev,
thanks. For a minute there I thought I was losing my mind :)
From the far side of the world, where I can't see the show, all I can say is that the comments on AT have absolutely nothing to do with the show, or the "spirit of the show" but rather a couple of folk getting on their soapbox about their favorite cause and having a good go at it... From the comments over their I totally missed what the program was actually about!!! Just not the right playing field guys!!!
I've seen two episodes and I am fascinated with the mom. She seems like super woman. I, for one, enjoyed the show and don't care how many kids someone has, it's their personal decision.
simplist~I too was shocked at the comments on AT! I have 4 children and never even considered that some people have huge issues with the # of children a couple chooses to have...Now I'm wondering what people actually are thinking when I go out and about with my sweet, little brood of children!
Wow, interesting comments over there one saying having children is selfish but then another commenter saying some reasons they don't have children are "We also want to be able to afford to travel & party whenever we're able & afford to live in a big city." Um, if that ain't living for yourself, I don't know what is. Not like you need that time and money for soup kitchen volunteering and philanthropy.
Just saying we all make selfish decisions one way or the other and that's a lot of finger pointing at breeders over there!
My cousin has six kids, is a stay at home mom and her husband is a real estate mogul in So Cal = pretty rich. They are raising bright, kind, eco-conscious kids on their own dime. How on earth is that horrible for the world? I don't care how mant resources they consume, they will also give back in immeasurable ways. Children are the future. Sheesh.
@simplist: Totally shocked. I didn't realize I was so sheltered. With all the child haters out there, I don't think we really need to worry about a population explosion.
I can understand to a point, because I have a tender heart for orphans, so I think people should adopt more :) But I personally know a lot of families of 6, 7 and 8(with NO twins) actually and have nothing against them.
i do have issues with the duggers, and octomom tho :)
I'd just read about the family in one of my magazines last month (maybe living etc?) then ran across the show and was excited that it was the same family...a bit chaotic but fun! hopefully the good vibe will last.
