One can always decorate with maps. Antique maps have a depth of interest and beauty of texture that isn't found in anything else. We were reminded how much we love maps by Swiss Miss' recent Strange Maps post.
And what better place to discover wonderful old maps in NYC than Argosy Book Store? They're said to have one of the greatest collections of antique maps in the world.
A quick perusal online found this wonderful 1864 New York City map (up top) alongside a State of Kansas map (that's where we're from).

I love maps, and I love Argosy bookstore.
My girlfriend bought me a map of Paris for Valentine's Day, and we recently decided to buy one map to commemorate each of our trips abroad together. (So, we're in search of *small* maps, if we intend to keep doing this over time.)
I love maps. In fact, I make them for a living as a GIS professional. Needless to say I wish I lived closer to NYC right now as I'd hate to order something like this without seeing it firsthand. Damn my Midwestern locale!
i just bought a map from this series of old brooklyn. for those of you who love maps, check out this site, too: wardmaps.com, for vintage urban maps.
I'd love to get an "antique" map of Mars if anyone out there knows where one could be found. I looked all over the internet a while back with no luck.
The Library of Congress has a great map collection online. The maps are downloadable in JPG2000 or MrSID formats and convertable to more common formats through software that they link to on the site.

I clicked on the link yesterday and found a map I have had in mind for many years. It was also half of what I would have paid locally. I wouldn't have thought to look at an antique map store in NYC for a bargain. Let's hope it arrives safely.
I actually have that exact same map of New York, but on a single sheet of wrapping paper that I found for 3-4$. Much cheaper and looks the same!
