Everyone's back in school, curling up with a good book, or pulling on those wooly argyle socks. Which makes an argyle yarn wreath the perfect look for the season:
The "argyle" pattern of this wreath is craftily created by squares of felt held in place by a contrasted, criss-cross wrapping of yarn. Against a backdrop of a plain yarn wreath, this is a perfectly cozy look to grace the front door of your apartment or house. And, when you're ready to move on, you can knit some mittens out of the materials!

I love this! I'm not a faux florals person at all...but I don't want my door to be naked either! I love how this is so sleek, yet relaxed at the same time.
i think this is a wreath that my husband couldn't hate. otherwise I agree with bryn, not much for faux floral wreaths.
This is a fantastic idea! My husband also hates the faux floral wreaths, and I'm not crazy about the pine versions for winter.
As a knitter and overall fiber geek, I have GOT to make myself one of these - love it.
I do a lot of straw wreath bases with very restrained florals and naked grapevine wreaths with just some pretty ribbon. I like bases that I can switch out the decorations every so often and not have to worry about storing the bulky base part.
I'm in love...
I made a yarn wreath in the spring with white yarn (it was cheap) and little artificial orange and pink cherry blossoms cut from a few 'branches' my friend had laying around... it screams summer to me, so I'm excited to have some inspiration for a fall replacement!
Woo hoo! Like the others who have posted, hate the faux florals but want to accessorize my door. I just had the house painted purple and the doors chartreuse! And I just knew there was another way to get some more color out there...
