Around this time of year, the thought of getting out of town starts to sound pretty appealing. While the beaches of Mexico aren't quite in the cards for me this month, it's nice to think ahead to all the places I could visit next year. Enter travel-themed 2011 calendars that temporarily will satisfy any case of wanderlust.

While no substitute for actual travel, at $25 or under these calendars will be much easier on your wallet than airfare and accommodations.

1. This colorful and patterned wall calendar draws from JHill's "Places I Have Never Been" series. ($25)

2. The name of Etsy seller ElloGovna's "California Dreamin'" calendar pretty much sums up how I feel from December through March. ($10)

3. With paper made from bananas and the days of the week written in Afrikaans, Vietnamese, and ten other languages, this calendar from Merry Blues Art has you covered on your ecological and linguistic fronts. ($20)

4. Bomobob's "A Year in Spain" is pretty and thoughtful and stays away from stereotypical imagery. ($12.50)

5. Cavallini's classic "Around the World" calendar will give you a monthly dose of vicarious vintage-style travel. ($12.95)

6. Their 2011 calendar is a prime example of the simple but clever maps from design duo These Are Things. ($20)

7. I know I'm not the only one who daydreams about Paris, and Irene Suchocki's calendar is the next best thing to being there. ($23)

8. Get face time with a matador and a gondolier with this illustrated calendar by P.S. Paper Goods. ($15)
