Art Auction: Lily-esque, by Jeanette Bokhour

Jan 26, 2007

Welcome to the first-ever AT Art Auction! All proceeds benefit Drawbridge, a local non-profit that creates arts programs for homeless kids. We're auctioning off six gorgeous pieces of art donated by local artists, one every 2-3 days. All info below. Happy Bidding!

Title: Lily-esque
Created: 2003
Artist: Jeanette Bokhour
City: Berkeley, CA
Size: 17" x 22"
Media: Ultrachrome print

Description: Jeanette says, "All of my art work originates from a single photo, a small glint of light from a pond at Monet's Garden. What you see here are the results of processing and playing with the elements until the image just becomes something else entirely. I am fascinated with the possibilities of pushing one idea to the limit, and have found no limit so far with this simple beginning. Everyday is another surprise."

Jeanette is represented by Big Pagoda

Last Auction's Winner:
The winning bid for Liz Trans' Elise by was cast by lilybutter.

As part of Art Month several AT readers who are artists have generously donated works to benefit Drawbridge. Their mission:

" provide art programs for homeless and other vulnerable children in an environment that fosters their sense of joy, creativity and exuberance. Beyond that, we strive to promote the well-being and stability of family by creating a supportive community in which children help other children, establishing a lifetime of giving."

A piece will be posted roughly every 2-3 days at 10:15am. Enjoy!
