We never gave too much thought to Martin's work way back when we were hanging out with him. At the time he was an art director working in San Francisco and painting on the side. Our mutual friend just recently told us that he is taking the art world by storm and showing in NYC and abroad. When we went to visit his site we were blown away.
All of his years of painting historic leaders had come full bloom [Abe Lincoln was a favorite way back when]. In addition to showing globally, Martin was chosen to participate in the Orange County's Museum of Art 2006 California Biennial "California's 50 immerging artists". [show recently closed]
Martin has dual shows going on this month one in New York's Jeff Bailey Gallery and his Los Angeles solo show opening this Saturday night Entitled "The Procession" at Susanne Vielmetter gallery.

i'm thrilled to see mr mcmurray's work here! i came across an exhibit of his world leaders in vehicles last year while in nyc for the armory show - and my client and i still talk about it. i had lost his info, but now that i see that he's showing at susanne vielmetter... i'll be sure to stop in. anyone in the l.a. area interested in seeing some well-executed, waggish artwork should definitely check it out!
