Children love receiving old-fashioned snail mail. And why wouldn't they? It's exciting to open up the mailbox and find that someone has written your very own name on a piece of post mail (before you're old enough to begin receiving bills, that is!).
That's the genious of New York City-based Abe's Peanut. It's a subscription-based collection of stories told through four postcards per month. Each card is created by artists who are paired up with storytellers to create one-of-a-kind pieces that arrive in the mailbox on an almost-weekly basis. Collect each four-card series per month and hang them as artwork in your child's room!
Pictured above are just a few examples from their archives. See more for yourself and subscribe for your child (they're running a special right now of $49.95 for a one-year subscription) at Abe's Peanut.

When my kids were young, I always sent them letters at camp, even mailing the first one before they left so they'd have mail right away.
The return address just said, "Mom".
Even in college, with email and phone so handy, I'd write letters to them in long hand. I didn't make them news letters, but "I was thinking about you and the time we..."
They've saved all the letters.
Neat! This sounds similar to the Stuart Brent book club we belong to, but way cooler. By the way, Stuart Brent book club has not sent our last two shipments, so buyer beware with this company!
Everyone I've sent them to has been delighted, young and old alike.
Thanks for posting!
