Dear Santa, this year I would like a Smurftastic Blue Christmas tree. Where has Treetopia and its vast collection of colorful artificial trees been hiding? Yes, you could say they have something for everyone, each with a witty name such as I'm Just a Rainbow Tree. My mother would frown upon the rebellion against traditional Christmas decor, but why not have a little fun this holiday?

White Enamel Flatwa...
Despite everyone here probably hating wal-mart, they do have very reasonably priced pre-lit 7' tinsel trees in different colors for $90. Probably made by children, but very retro and cool looking.
I bought a 4' pre-lit pink tree at Kohls a couple of years ago on Black Friday for $5. (Down from all of $20) Still going strong. Same thing for $119? I don't think so.
That yellow one reminds me of Big Bird.
I love that orange tree!
My Christmas tree at my apartment this year is a 3.5 foot pre-lit foil pink tree that I bought at Wal-Mart for $20. It's covered in cupcake decorations!
@lynell
I have that Kohls tree too and I LOVE IT! It's so pretty it practically glows. I'm living in Europe for the next 4 years though and I can't use it over here. So bummed. I love the yellow tree and the red tree but I think they'd both get old after a bit. I'm going with a white tree this year and I guess for the 3 years after... :)
This post is making me itch to get out my own tree....it's simple....and actually looks best WITHOUT any ornaments.

Garden Ridge has carried a rainbow of colors (pink, blue, yellow, orange, purple, black) for years.
I am a traditional girl and like the natural pine green (no flocking or anything) but I've been tempted to get a black tree to do a Nightmare Before Christmas themed tree.
I have to say I'm liking the candy cane striped one too...
and WalMart sucks ;)
likes a lot
I would love a little teensy one to keep around all year. ANyone know if ther are like 2 footers?
Agreed, I think I'd like some of these in smaller doses. Like, tabletop size.
quite cute but prices are a bit high.
Like the orange tree..too bad they don't have tabletop models.
hey at R_Claw...I've seen teensy tinsel ones at Urban Outfitters before
Faaantastic.
YUCK! NOOOO!!
Nothing says commercialism like an unnaturally coloured tree.
i have a ten inch pink tinsel tree. I love it, and I decorate it proudly with tiny birds every year.
Pink tinsel cute - yellow fake tree not so cute...these are just not my thing. I like a natural tree- the smell just reminds me of christmas.
I don't mind the solid color trees if you're doing a complimentary ornament/decor color. They might be too busy with your regular ornament stash tho.
However, I'm in LURVE with the candy cane stripe! That would be great outdoors where it can shine solo!
@iampeas I love your tree! Where did you find it?
how many will end up next year in the landfill
I'm... shocked. Here in France, nobody uses au fake tree. I mean, a Christmas tree is about bringing one of nature's everlasting wonder into your home, isn't it ? How can you do that with a fake tree, even a green one ?
A real tree won't be as regular, as neat and yes, it will leave dirt and leaves (not leaves obviously, but I don't know the term for a pine) all over your living room. But the smell is incredible. And the pleasure of having something real and alive in your place ? Nothing beats the perfect imperfection of a real tree. Nothing beats the pleasure of putting up christmas lights yourself, and of decorating yourself.
And for those of us concerned with environnemental issues, just think about how plastic is made (hello petroleum). I buy my tree at a local flower shop for about 50 euros. Ikea sells some for 20 euros (and they don't come all the way from Sueden).
radioriot - there's plenty of reasons people hate walmart. educate yourself so at least you are making a decision based on knowledge instead of being a sheep.
Loora - we love our consumption here. it's a little embarrassing. sadly, that's what seems to unite most Americans now (a shame, we have so many other great things to be proud of). alas. oh - pine needles is the term you wanted :)
Sorry, these trees are just ghastly--I lived through the pink flocked trees once, but I'm pretty sure I can't do it again.
Hideous. And I think that real trees are wonderful, and hard as it is for AT to believe, most Americans still buy real trees. Think of the tree farmers! Support a local grower, not some Chinese factory.
I've never understood the purpose of a colorful tree, the part I like most about the tree is the decorations. The traditional tree seems to me to highlight the beautiful or quaint ornaments you might have. I love the colors of the lights and think maybe they will get lost on a colored tree?
I will stick with my vibrant lime green tinsel tree with red velvet balls.

My husband is a fake tree person, I am a real tree person, so we compromise: We get a real tree and I vacuum.
These trees are fun to look at, but I never want Christmas that fake that it's all about the "look" and not about the friends and family and the charity and the story of Christ.
Loora, I have had a fake tree for years because many places I have lived prohibit "live" (once cut they aren't live any more, you know?) trees because they dry out and cause a fire hazard. My fake tree will last many years, so it's not a huge environmental problem. And it cost a bit less than two real trees the same size would have, so in less than two years I am ahead on the investment.
Pine "leaves" are called "needles" in English.
leehou, *I* call my tree a "holiday tree" much of the time. I'm not Christian and what I'm celebrating has nothing whatever to do with the religious holiday, really, so it seems a bit insincere to call it a "Christmas" tree. (Similarly I send holiday cards that say Season's Greetings or Happy Holidays.)
no, please do not go there - to the place where things are just plain ugly and meaningless.
When I look at this photo I can't help but think how many of them will be sitting in a landfill in 5 years time.
"But the smell is incredible. And the pleasure of having something real and alive in your place ? "
Loora, it's not a pleasure when the smell sends you into a fit of sneezing and itchy misery. My fake tree is a decade old, still looks great, and keeps me out of sinus hell.
That being said, I'm not a fan of these fakes.
@R_Claw and others looking for smaller versions- the same site sells table top trees. Here's the link to the pink:

impeas, I love your tree. So simple and pretty.
Maybe for a second tree, but I'm very traditional. In fact, it's not just putting up the tree, it's also going to pick one out and chopping it down. I live in the midwest, so we go to a tree farm and chop down the special one. It's a family affair. But if a colored tree works for you...go for it.
Got my purple 7ft tree at borders this year for $80 with the 40% coupon, it's awesome!
