Artist, Jennifer Collier, uses found paper and her sewing machine to recreate household objects.
Each object is one of a kind, and often the paper she uses is the inspiration behind the piece; a dress pattern is created into a dress, old maps into a camera, sheet music into binoculars.
The papers themselves serve as both the inspiration and the media for my work, with the narrative of the books and papers suggesting the forms. I tend to find items then investigate a way in which they can be reused and transformed; giving new life to things that would otherwise go unloved or be thrown away.
I think they're just lovely.
