Q: I recently stumbled across this image and I wanted to know if anyone could point me in the direction of the artist behind that lovely bold and colorful middle poster.

White Enamel Flatwa...
Great question - indeed the origin of any of those posters would be good to know.
Hmmm..I do not know that specific artist. It does in fact look similar to the work done by the artist Dalek. if you go to www.feedyourwall.com and search for "Dalek" you will see work of close comparison...perhaps even better ;)
Although Dalek's work is interesting, colorful and very creative, I disagree and don't think it looks anything like the prints above. Dalek is cool though and def should be looked at.
All of the posters together make me think of Paul Rand... So that could be a place to start.
How frustrating..maybe some day we will be able to scan something and search on the web.
Olle Bærtling comes to mind but not the same, it does seem to be by a Swedish abstract artist mid century. Contemporary artist Jenny Marchi who takes Swedish social security numbers and makes these abstract prints

Does anyone know where to get the frames used for these posters? I have a few large posters, but I use the big Ikea poster frame, which I don't like. I DO like how these frames a thinner and less clunky. Sources?
I would search grainedit.com, the work featured there has a similar aesthetic so perhaps this artist has been featured.
No idea, but I think my first inclination would be to guess that it is Swedish given the nature of the interior design and the "Metapolis" poster to the right.
I tried TinEye reverse image search and GazoPa similar image search, cropping the poster and uploading to see if there were any matches but found nothing. Good luck!
I have been looking for the origin of the FIRST poster (on left) FOREVER! Can't wait to see if someone knows where these are from!
The one on the left (two black eyes on white background) is by Olle Eksell:

i agree whyspertwome..it just slightly reminded me of the new direction Dalek is going in but definitely not as good. Dalek has gone brighter and been working more with patterns and shapes since his days of the space monkeys :)
You could easily DIY both posters with some basic skills in Photoshop or Illustrator. Then just have a print shop make a poster size print for $30. I might just do it myself!
Tip: find a pre-made frame you like first and then create the artwork to fit it.
And the one on the far right is an exhibition at the wonderful modern art museum in Malmo, called the Malmö Konsthall. The exhibition was in 1986, called Metápolis.

Still trying to search for the middle one!
You're right simsima! : )
Love the art, but does anybody know who makes those shelves? They look almost DIY?
the center one looks like Sol Lewitt
Contact the International Vintage Poster Dealers Association (ivpda.org). You can email them a picture of the poster and ask if any of their members has it.
They're all vetted, reputable dealers, and super knowledgeable.
Oh thanks so much! that's a great idea.
No luck. they're not familiar with the poster. Any other ideas?
Reminds me of that 60's Porsche art by Erich Strenger.
the first one is from Olle Eksell, a swedish Graphic Designer... I hope was helpfull
;)
Amazing to see this poster ten years after it was made. A colleague, Anders Kornestedt and I made it for Form Design Center in Lund, Sweden. If you fold it you will have a giant colourful paper plane. Maybe they will have a copy for sale? http://www.formdesigncenter.com

Correction: It's Form Design Center in Malmö, not Lund.

i was wondering if anyone had any luck finding the colorful poster? I asked the Form Design Center and they didn't have any :'(

The black and white poster is by Swedish graphic designer Olle Eksell, for sale and Form Design Center.
Not sure about the others though.
