How have I survived without a Fat Magnet all this time? That's the question I have to ask as I'm sitting here perched on my Total Pillow, chatting with a friend on my GoJo Super Grip suction cup headset. If only my feet didn't hurt. I should have picked up the Stretch Genie - my shoes would fit better - magically!
I kid, I kid. But, one of the things I most enjoy perusing at the Home & Housewares show is not just the newest in tabletop trends or the smartest, next-wave appliances. It's just as entertaining to take a peek at the little things that all of us can be tempted to pick up now and then, in hopes of making life at home just a little bit easier.
Here's a quick look at ten "as seen on tv" style products from the show that might be the ones to sell like hotcakes in 2012 - after all, why struggle? You can "feed your pet with ease" with the No-Bend Pet Bowl and then be on your way through your Magic Mesh screen door, off to enjoy a bright new day, free of aches, pains and saggy sofas, thanks to that handy Furniture Fix.

White Enamel Flatwa...
I love this kind of stuff! It always makes me want one, but then once I buy it, it turns out to be a piece of junk.
I have the Total Pillow and it is awesome. I use it as a convenient face donut when snoozing on the seatback tray table when I fly. I sit on it to boost my short self when I'm in a car that doesn't have an adjustable enough driver's seat. I use it as a neck pillow when I read in bed at home. Seriously, I am all about the Total Pillow.
A scrap piece of plywood works just as well than buying the Furniture Fix.
Snappaloosa and I are Total Pillow buddies. A flight attendant named Mario once ran three miles to recover my Total Pillow from the plane I had forgotten it on. That's how convincing my heartbreak at the thought of going through Europe for a month without Total Pillow was.

total pillow is great!
Chalk up another Total Pillow fan. I adore mine so much, I have a second one in the closet for when they inevitably stop making them because I like them. (That's what happens when I like things. They stop making it.)
every time I see that sift and toss I conciser buying it for my mother in law and her cat. Anyone use it before? does it actually work?
I think that pet food thing with the handle would be fantastic for older people or people with physical limitations.
GypsyMomma0911 - I haven't tried that one, but whenever I've tried any kind of litter liners, my cat has always scratched through them before I could take them out of the litter box. And I had one of those litter boxes that had the extra sifting layer in it (rigid plastic); the poop would get stuck in the holes of the sifter before the litter coated it. Not helpful.
The first time I saw an ad for the Furniture Fix, I turned to my dad and said, "So...somebody patented plywood?"
And I think that if it works, the Sift and Toss litter-liners are very clever.
I have a long flight in my immediate future, I'm going to go get a Total Pillow today, thanks for the reminder!
I love that the picture on the "Furniture Fix" box is of an IKEA chair...
I have 2 cats they each poop and pee at least tice a day, Thats 8 or so "clumps" a day, so I MUST clean the box every day, most days twice a day if not more. The sifting liner would be way too expensive.
Ms. Pants - you made me panic. I use my total pillow every day. I am running out to buy another one.
Magic Mesh - no good. Magnets come off. I'm looking at a retractable screen next.
Sticky Mop - very good, mainly because it's soo much bigger than the rollers for your clothes. Good for larger surfaces such as carpets and couches.
Insta-Hang - gotta try that.
My Japanese friend moved away and left me a huge lint roller. I asked what it's for. He said it's to pick up the stuff that the vacuum misses. Now I see it's marketed in the US as the Sticky Mop. LOL
Forget the products, I want to know where to find that cool, retro, orange TV!
Thank you Jeremy for the only reasonable comment! Where can you get it, is it a new remake?
Oh man, my sister bought four Total Pillows for our girls trip to Italy. They were hideous (brown & beige) they looked like a hemorrhoid! They were totally uncomfortable BUT we got a lot of laughs from them and everyone on each flight wanted to know what they were. I think by the end of the trip we all ditched them on planes, in hotels and on trains.
I have to say that mesh cat litter thing looks handy dandy. Someone please convince me it's crap.
My cat scratches through plastic cat liners as soon as I put them in, so no on those. I agree with Joan A. on the sifter trays too... the holes get clogged and it's more work and messier than a regular litterbox. Sadly.
I never tried the sift and toss brand, but there's another brand, can't think of the name right now but I"m pretty sure it comes in a blue box. It's only $3 at Walmart or Pet Supplies Plus. I think they work great and are absolutely worth the expense! (I've got 2 cats)
Do NOT buy the Instahang! It is totally useless - the nails don't come out when you push the button on it basically, so there's no point to it at all. I can't believe we fell for it and wasted the money on it!
Reminds me a little bit to much of this (slightly NSFW but v.funny):

I want to know about the tv too!
Really phoning it in AT.
Just have to say that I really thought the product was called "Sniff & Toss," until I read the comments. Oh, reading skills.
Yes, TV please!
Curious if the editors have reviewed or seen or touched any of these products? Can you tell us which ones are wonderful and why beyond product descriptions?
Re: Magic Mesh
I have to wonder what effect the 18 strong magnets would have on the credit cards & memory cards of someone standing in the doorway.
