Asher's Paul Bunyan-Inspired Nursery

My Room

Name: Asher (8 months)
Location: South Carolina

My inspiration for my little guy's room came from a vintage Paul Bunyan book that belonged to my mother. I happen to be browsing in my parents' basement one day and found the book and immediately envisioned a room full of woodgrain and flannel.

I wanted the room to be a bright modern space, but have a little vintage twist to it. I was limited to what I could do with the room because we are a military family and live on base housing...(no tearing down walls, pulling up carpet, and such.) I used items such as the Paul Bunyan book and my husband's old Boy Scouts uniform to add special touches to the room.

I found the cardboard "ox" that we refer to as "Babe" on eBay. The room took me about three months to complete and I'm very pleased with the way it turned out. Some days I find myself just sitting in the room and soaking up the space... Not to mention Asher enjoys the space as well. He loves to look at "Babe" while laying in his crib.

Source List:

  • Yellow Stripes: Sherwin-Williams "Citrus"
