We're all about home improvement projects on a budget--especially when the small space has to think and act like a big room. That's why we had to share Ashli's entryway turned mud room. As the only entrance to her home, it needed to do more than just act pretty.
For starters, Ashli and hubby tore off the bi-fold doors (which took up too much room in the 4x5 space). Going vertical (yay!), they picked up a super affordable shelving unit from Home Depot. The next step-- make it attractive with wicker baskets, uniform wood hangers and painted green stripes (love). The family also added a personal touch to the entryway mirror, thanks to some vinyl decals from Etsy. A pebble boot tray and some awesome hooks from IKEA round out the teeny-yet-welcoming spot. And not to worry, Ashli breaks down each purchase on her blog so you can replicate the must haves.

I love the idea of using vertical space, but I am completely in love with your dog!!
hehe...especially the little tongue :)
The tongue sticking out!! What a cutie~
those foldable hooks are great! are they from Ikea?
I hate to say, but the cutie pie dog totally overshadows the room. He looks kinda like mine but the longer hair-yorkie poo? Love his little tongue hanging out.
1) That dog is wicked awesome! :P
2) I LOVE the folded hooks. Must have them.
May I walk you dog? I have a thing for Yorkies :)
I have to say, these are great ideas.
In future posts leave out the dog as he is a scene stealer.
I want him too!
Thanks so much for all the nice comments and thanks so much to Beth who spotted my mudroom and put it up here on my favorite blog!
I agree our little Max is a scene stealer! But he'd be so upset if I left him out! haha
The folded hooks did come from Ikea You can find a whole list of where everything came from if you follow the link to my blog! Thanks so much!!!
