No April Fools here, just a roundup of a category that is repeatedly high in our google searches: the adjustable coffee table. These are the things that look good low down but then can raise right up and turn into a totally passable dining table or work table when needed.

ps. and for any DIY nuts out there, here's a link to a mechanism that you can use to build your own adjustable table.

>> Yoyo Table - Ligne Roset: High-end basic model, with multiple choice of top from glass to wood. There is a leaf that increases your table top by about 20%.

>> Crescendo Table - Ligne Roset: This one not only rises up, but it also opens double wide to expand its surface. This is the big MaMa.

>> Hydra Table - Hydra Designs: The hydraulic lift is super sexy and guests will want to touch it. Moves up enough for dining, but table table size is constrained to small cafe size.

>> Mascotte Table - Jensen Lewis: Made in Italy, this one is an all wood version that comes in natural, cherry and wenge. Top also unfolds to double your real estate.

>> Adjustable Coffee Table - Brookstone: Not too sexy, but for the woody bookish set, this does the job.

>> Container Coffee Table - Jensen-Lewis: Modern with lots of storage inside. This will do the trick for all you TV dinner folks out there.
