AT Europe: Paris - The Jean Royere Room at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs

A trip the recently refurbished Musée des Arts Décoratifs is worthwhile for anyone interested in design. But my favorite moment on a recent visit was discovering the top floor room with designs by Jean Royère (1902-1981). How do I love this room? Let me count the ways...

The organic yellow canapé Boule sofa, designed in 1947 for his mother's apartment. The creeper light on the left wall. The watermelon-colored carpet. Not to mention the lovely attic bones of the museum itself, with its little round windows that give Impressionistic glimpses of Paris from above. I wanted to move right in.
