Oh wow.. I dont even know what to say.
ID LOVE This in Black. What a great christmas it would be if we won this!
We would play anything by frank sinatra.. I dont have a favorite.
I blogged ya : (though maybe I should have kept this one a secret! LOL j/k)
http://contestaddict.blogspot.com
Black would compliment my decor nicely.
I'll be playing the homemade CD copy of the Big N Christmas Album. Favorite Track: Morris the Moose. (He's sad because Santa won't let him pull the sleigh.)
i'd go traditional and deep felt with mahalia jackson...
and i'd love it in white :)
The little drummer boy, one of my old bands and I recorded a version of this song back in the 1990's. When the tape stopped the time counter read 2:525.
Red please...ho, ho, ho
Without a doubt it would be "Christmas Wrapping" by the Waitresses. I'm wishing for Red (is that true Holiday spirit or what?).
i can definitely hear some Santa Claus is Coming to Town by Bruce Springsteen coming out of there, in rock-and-roll red of course.
This would look sharp in our apartment in the black color styling.
We'll be playing the the fabulous David Bowie & Bing Crosby duet of Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth. A fantastic combo!
I gotta go with a diva... Mariah Carey - All I want for Christmas [Is You?]
And the system in RED is so hot!
While I would love to stay classic, I don't see how I couldn't play "Ludacrismas" on this great item to really get the Christmas party bumpin. I'd like to rock the red in honor of Luda and the Hotlanta Hawks.
Cool, ethereal white for me. To go with Anonymous 4's album of medieval Christmas music. *shiver*
Oh... the white and black are nice... but the red is irresistible.
I will be playing Possessed by the Klezmatics.
Vince Guaraldi's "The Christmas Song" day and night!
I think white is pretty cool.
I'd play Eartha Kitt's Santa Baby on the new system. A unit in black would work best in our abode.
i shall be listening to some.....
santa claus is coming to town
RED ....puh-lease....=)
"That's What I Want for Christmas" by Nancy Wilson, the most beautiful Christmas love song ever. Definitely in the red!
The Nutcracker Suite!
Red please. Thank you!
'Baby, It's Cold Outside' by Frank Loesser.
I would prefer the red one but it's a difficult choice.
Red for me and the song would have to be Alvin & the Chipmunks -- All I Want for Christmas (Is My Two Front Teeth). I'm spending lots of time at the dentist repairing teeth hurt in a fall. Alvin and his pals would bring me lots of cheer.
Aimee Mann's version of "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" would be perfect on the white one.
Beach Boys: The Man With All the Toys
Oh I would die.........Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Red is beautiful!!!
My wife and I are expecting our first child right around Christmas, so my entire family is coming to us for the holidays. A nice, white Geneva Sound System would be perfect for playing Dean Martin's "Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow" as we open gifts for Baby's First Christmas.
ohmygosh, this makes me feel like an old person, but i just love 'silver bells' by bing crosby. there is just something so sweet about that song that puts me in a good mood, especially during those stressful holiday moments.
white, like a snowy field, please.
I can already hear Stevie Wonder singing The Little Drummer Boy on my new white Geneva sound system. Our newborn (our first) cooing while my wife and I enjoy a glass of egg nog 'round the tree, appreciating the blessings of another wonderful year...
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope to live out the above dream sans the awesome sound system, if need be!
Hopefully I will be playing "Santa Claus Got Stuck In My Chimney" by Ella Fitzgerald on the red one.
We'd be listening to White Christmas by Bing Crosby on a white one while it gently snows outside! How romantic...
Candy apple red for the kitchen... delicious.
'Fairytale of New York" by The Pogues... nothing like the back end of a party standing in the kitchen with some irish whiskey and the Shane MacGowan perma-slur...
passionate red, my friends.
happy holidays.
Oh, gorgeous! I love the red! Baby, It's Cold Outside. Johnny Mercer and Margaret Whiting. :)
Red! Yes!
The sweetly cynical sounds of Pearl Bailey singing "Five Pound Box of Money" would be wafting through the air...
The red would be perfect with my empire red Kitchenaid Mixer and my red Ultra Bellini chairs.... please please please. And I would play The Christmas Song-- that is the "chestnuts roasting over an open fire"... right? While I was actually roasting the chestnuts-- but probably in my oven and not over an open fire-- heh.
I'd take red.
"Baby It's Cold Outside" is the best winter cocktail song. I wish I could find a recorded version of Zoe Deschanel vamping that one up, which was the fine moment in "Elf."
Christmas In Hollis by Run D.M.C.
"My name's D.M.C. with the mic in my hand
And I'm chilling and coolin just like a snowman
So open your eyes, lend us an ear
We want to say
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!"
...and since it's the Holidays, definitely in white.
I'd love white, and I'd crank up James Brown's Christmas tunes!
On my pretty red Geneva Sound System, I'd blast "Baby, It's Cold Outside" by Leon Redbone & Zooey Deschanel (yes, the one from Elf) -- it's such a great song, and Zooey is one of those few singing celebs with actual talent.
It's kinda lesser-known, but I love "Happy Holiday" by Lena Horne. When I play it, I imagine throwing swanky holiday parties looking like something out of a Shag painting!
...and a white Geneva sure would swankify my holiday shindigs!
Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite. White would look great in my kitchen.
I like Charlie Browns Xmas and Rock Around the Christmas Tree!! Black for me please :)
The Philadelphia Orchestra with Eugene Ormandy did an arrangement of God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen that is a great, brassy, pulsating take on an old chestnut. It's been a favorite of mine since childhood and the best way to listen to it is with the volume (way) up.
White would be wonderful, thanks!
It is a toss-up between:
Mariah Carey's - All I want for Christmas
and Ron Sexmith's - Maybe this Christmas.
Any of the colors would make this gal very happy :)
O Come All Ye Faithful- oh my neighbors would love me
Red por favor!
Ooh, this is a tough one, but I have to go with The Temptations' "Silent Night." It's a holiday classic dressed up in warm soul.
And the glossy white is my pick.
I really hope you all have listened to the Sufjan Stevens "Songs for Christmas" set. It's more than slightly amazing. That Was The Worst Christmas Ever is sort of achey and melancholy but really, really beautiful. No favorites though, the whole thing is pretty damn impressive.
Tis the season for all things White methinks.
Christmas in Killarney by the Irish Rovers. (With lots of Nat King Cole in rotation.) Red would be awesome.
I have to go with a favorite of mine, "The Italian Christmas Donkey"
Hee haw hee haw!
I love the red!
It's a sad fact that I don't own a single holiday song, in any format. Just this week, however, my 4 year old has started demanding xmas songs every night at bedtime, so I've had to dredge them up from the dark recesses of my childhood brain, rusty, off key, and with incomplete lyrics. I really need to buy some xmas tunes and I appreciate all the suggestions here - Bruce and Eartha now on my list. My son, of course, is most interested in "Rudolph." My own childhood favorite, which I'll probably have to inflict on him: "A Christmas Together, with John Denver and the Muppets." Oh yeah.
Definitely white, shiny timeless white, to match my other white accents (which mostly don't exist yet, but we're getting there), brighten up my dark-ish living room, and offset my darker wood furniture.
Did I mention that I currently don't have a stereo of any kind, and I've been playing cd's on my crappy tv/dvd player? I'm just sayin'...
I'd love it in Black, sleek. I'd play David Bowie's version of the Little Drummer Boy! I love that song.
I would have to play Barenaked Ladies version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen or my brother's version of the Little Drummer Boy.
White please, to match my iPod.
what a perfect holiday gift for grown-ups with a modern sensibilty! love it!!!!!!!
i'd like to listen to "have yourself a merry little christmas" covered by the pretenders.
I'd be playing Elvis' "I'll have a Bluuuuuueeee Christmas, without youuuuu" (it's a family classic), and I'd love it in white!
White would be wonderful!
And i would definitely be playing "Blue Christmas" by the King himself, Elvis Presley.
hmm, i'd be playing my favorite homemade christmas cd. it's got a lot of these songs on it (by random artists), but it also has "river" by joni mitchell. it's a sad one, but it's a christmas song to me!
white or red, white or red...hmm...i'm gonna go with white :)
PSYCHO JINGLE FUNK - Rithma
Off the OM Records "hOMe for the holidays" cd
Red please!
Nothing but Wham! "Last Christmas." In white, please.
Would love this in black and will be playing the beautiful, instrumental "Asleep the Snow Came Flying" from the album "A Winter's Solstice IV". For a lyric song I have to pick "Christmas Time is Here", the version sung by Diana Krall. Both songs remind me of my amazing Dad.
I'll be playing A Charlie Brown Christmas, for sure. And I'd love to have the red version sitting under my sad, little, needle-shedding tree. (see below)
<<<-
The red is lovely! The kids and dogs love to dance to Harry Connick Jr's x-mas album!
Deck The Halls would be the song and Red would be the color.
My name is Jolly, so it would be very fitting, it being the "Season to be Me" and all.
This is Hot and would be a nice addition to any kitchen. My decor is minimalist green with a dash of red. That said, I would play "Santa Baby" by Ertha Kitt while baking gingerbread cookies and drinking a hot mint mocha.
I would play Santa Baby, by Eartha Kitt, on my white Geneva Sound System.
oops! I would also pick the Hot Red version.
Let me tell you - do I wish I could enter this!!
Sarah McLachlan's River, from Wintersong. And then it would be something loud and pop-y, to really put it to good use.
I'd love white with Santa Baby playing
The Pretenders "2000 Miles".
Snow white please.
It's beginning to look like white, radio and christmas! happy holidays.
I'll be sipping cocoa and listening to A Charlie Brown Christmas if I won this in black.
I would play "I'll be home for Christmas" (the original Bing Crosby version) because we just moved 12 hours (14 if driving with the baby) away from my family and friends and we won't be able to drive down to Missouri if the snow is as bad as predicted. We always sit around the record player in my Grandma's family room and listen to great classics like that. It would be great to carry on an updated version of the tradition with our son (especially since it's his first Christmas).
I would definitely pick the red because everything seems merrier coming out of such a nice color (and oh so appropriate for the season!)
Pharoah Sanders and Leon Thomas, Prince of Peace
Color? Black is beautiful!
Its been a tradition since I was younger to decorate the tree while dancing around to christmas carols. One of my favorites was always "Need a little Christmas Now" by Johnny Mathis. White would be fabulous! :)
the classics seem to dance out of clean & simple modern design so well....it'd be Tchaikovsky's Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from the Nutcracker Suite...and for that the ballet shoe white would be oh so sweet.
I'd play Christmas Song (Christmas Don't Be Late) by Alvin & the Chipmunks on my shiny white sound system.
("I still want a huuula hoooop!!!")
We've just moved into a house in which the previous tenants felt it was a good idea to spray paint the cabinets with tremclad. So, a lovely new black sound system would spruce up the kitchen quite a bit (with two babies under two and at the tail end of a massive international move we don't have the money, time or energy to fix the cabinets at the moment). And, the song would have to be "Fairytale of New York" by the Pogues - still the best Holiday song in my opinion.
I always do my holiday baking to both my own holiday mix (The Pixies' Holiday Song, Wham's Last Christmas, that Feliz Navidad song) and to woxy.com's holiday mix. I'd like to listen to it on a black one, por favor!!! :D
Errr... did the Ramones do any xmas songs?
I admit I have a weakness for the old standards. Probably Silver Bells or It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas, or something along those lines.
Thanx!
Tony Bennett would be crooning My Favorite Things on my Red Geneva. :)
Over the Rhine's "Snowed in with You" on a black system would help my Florida kitchen feel a little more Christmassy!
Cheers!!
Red, in a heartbeat. Let's see...how about "Do They Know It's Christmas?"
I would be listening to "Winter Wonderland" sung by the Cocteau Twins on my white sound system.
A Charlie Brown Christmas, definitely. The white one would be nice! :)
The Hannukah Song by Adam Sandler! The one with The Dreidels. On that beautiful red Geneva.
"Winter Wonderland" - Harry Connick, Jr. version!
RED!!! :)
on my brand spanking new sparkling red geneva sound system, i'd play the happy holiday howlers yipping out jingle bells, the lucky 13th song on their 2005 album 'a dog's christmas - holiday songs with dog bark sounds'
Nothing brings holiday cheer like "Feliz Navidad" by Jose Feliciano.
My Geneva Sound System in RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will be belting "Last Christmas"- by George Michael.... hopefully the sound system can drown me out.
Oh... and red... for the holidays!
Bing Crosby- I'll Be Home for Christmas.
And in honor of the season, how about red?
I don't know if there are any other Jews out there obsessed with "Good King Wenceslas" but I sure am.
Loretta Lynn: "Happy Birthday," because it mentions Christmas AND New Year's and is a bit more unexpected than "Jingle Bells." And I would love red, to remind me always of the AT holiday contest. (And to jumpstart a new color scheme based on this <A HREF="http://www.luxepaperie.com/sngrbegiwrsh.html">Snow & Graham pattern</A>!)
"Have a Funky Funky Christmas" by NKOTB
The red one is fab!!!
I'd drink some spiced hot chocolate and listen to Freedy Johnston's version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas". I'd love it best in white.
I love "Wonderful Christmastime" by Paul McCartney, but A Charlie Brown Christmas is so perfect for unwinding in the kitchen... I'd love listening to it on my new RED speakers!
Any choral CD with Paul Hillier conducting! Angelic music for a relaxing holiday! I would like the candy-colored red one, please.
definitely red. and definitely The Waitresses' "Christmas Wrapping"
Baby It's Cold Outside sung by Dean Martin. I'd love it in black please.
Definitely The Pogues' "Fairytale of New York" . It would be playing at my raucous holiday drinks party on a white Geneva.
I would listen to all of my favorite novelty christmas songs, like "Grab your Balls like Micheal Jackson" on my new red speakers.
Dipset Christmas by the Harlem Diplomats
Red (!)
Black, please, and i'll play "Merry Christmas From the Family" by Robert Earl Keen
Carve the Turkey
Turn the ball game on
Mix margaritas when the eggnog's gone
Send somebody to the Quickpak Store
We need some ice and an extension chord
A can of bean dip and some Diet Rites
A box of tampons, Marlboro Lights
Haleluja everybody say Cheese
Merry Christmas from the family
What's laquer (and Christmas for that matter) if it isn't RED?? I'll bust out my hairbrush mic for "Last Christmas" by the one and only Wham!
I like the red, but I should probably get the black to match both my iPod and, unfortunately, my mood today. :( Hopefully, tomorrow will be better.
Anyway, the first seasonal song is easy -- Sarah Silverman's "Give The Jew Girl Toys." Great tune.
For me, it'd have to be a nostalgia party, playing Erlend Oye's cover of "Last Christmas," a sad one, but it brings back happy memories of my German 7th grade students learning all the words. Give me that song and a glass of gluehwein (spiced hot wine, yum!) and I'll be in the Christmas spirit.
It also reminds me of the friend who introduced me to the song, in Switzerland no less, and the very white Christmas we had that year. White please!
Greensleeves. Coltrane 4. Red. Yes.
Song: Tori Amos's Yes Anastasia
'Yes Anastasia' is one of Amos' more instrumental songs that I know by heart. This will be good because I'll most likely be working these holidays and need something won't distract.
Color: Red
I like the red version best out of the red/white/black version. If there were an orange or a moss green version I'd be all over those colors.
I'll have to go with Ella Fitzgerald's "Ella Wishes You a Swinging Christmas." It's all good, but I have a soft spot for 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.'
The red one would be a fantastic addition to my kitchen. Fingers crossed...
Your A Mean One Mr. Grinch....Love the voice
I will say red would be my choice.
Thanks!
I play my favorite christmas song: "This Christmas" by The Whispers and then Nat King Cole's "Chestnuts roasting on a open fire" I know that isn't the exact title, but, you all know it. My color of choice is RED!
Glad to see another Over the Rhine fan on the list. I'd play their version of "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear" on the red system.
I can't decide which color - black or white - probably black though. As for what song I'm gonna play - I gotta choose just one? Hmmm, that's hard. I love anything from those 40's 50's singers - you know the real classic Christmas songs. But Bing Crosby's - I'll Be Home for Christmas has gotta be The One.
RED!!!! and we will play the Christmas Song sung by Nat King Cole
:)
"Santa Baby" by Eartha Kitt.
In red!!!
I'll be playing the entire "Ella Fitzgerald Wishes you a Swinging Christmas" on my kewl new black Geneva Sound System!
Gotta go with "Frosty the Snowman" by the Ronettes.
And a the white one would be suh-weet!
Ooh! I have no stereo at home. I would adore this!
Pick me! Pleeeeeease!
Ocho Kandelikas - Los Hoodios
Peace on Earth - Joshua Nelson
The Best of The Temptations Christmas
It's kind of a strange mix in our house - our Black, Jewish multicultural, interfaith family truly celebrates Chrismahanukwanzkah. Needless to say, December is a very busy month for us but nothing beats collard green latkes. Seriously.
Red would be perfect. Thanks!
song: "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas..."
what can I say, my 11 month old's favorite book is "Maurice the Hippo," so now we listen to that song--a lot.
but who doesn't love the line "mom says the hippo would eat me up, but then, teacher says a hippo is a vegeterian?
and white of course. to match his stuffed hippo.
I'll be playing The Carpenter's Christmas Songs and I would like white to match all the appliances in my kitchen.
My favorite of all times! " Last Christmas" by WHAM!
I would love it in any color, but if I had to chose it would be black. I am so exited to be part of this, it would be a great giftbag! :)
Definitely the black one, and I'd have to second the Bing Crosby "I'll be Home for Christmas".
White as snow, please, so I can rock my "All I Want For Christmas is You", Mariah Carey style.
Silent Night by the Temptations or the classic "Christmas Song" by Nat King Cole!
I'm sure they would sound so nice coming out of this amazing BLACK sound system!
rudolph the red nose reindeer!
white...
Andy Williams singing Kay Tompson's Jingle Bells. And, I'd love to have white, please, so that the dust in my pottery studio won't show so often ...
Has to be "Baby It's Cold Outside," Velma Middleton and Louis Armstrong.
Put some hot records on while I pour...
And definitely red!
It's a toss-up between two songs that could not be more different -
"I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" by Gayla Peevey, and
"Christmas in Hollis" by RUN D.M.C. Both get me into the holiday spirit far more than "O Tennenbaum" ever could.
The red is HOT!
"All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth"
In white, like my teeth!
I'd crank "Christmas Wrapping" while whipping up a pumpkin cheesecake. White, please!
I would play the song that Cindy Loo Who sings in How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It's my favorite.
And I think I'll take it in white.
They're all gorgeous, but I think I'm partial to the white one.
And, I think I'd use it to curl up on my sofa with some hot chocolate and whipped cream, and listen to Ella Fitzgerald's "What are you doing New Year's Eve?"
wait - we get to CHOOSE a color AND a song? boy oh boy!
I'll go with white (color) and white (Christmas) singing...
I love the snowy white color, butI'd never leave any of them out in the cold.
You'd hear Perry Como crooning about what Christmas is all about..."C is for the Christ child, H is for the herald angels..." and we'd all think a bit more about the season than what is in the box.
Greetings to all.
We'll be listening to "The Ultimate R&B Christmas", or "Christmas in New Orleans" or anything Frank Sinatra.
The white would be so nice and clean, the black would be so slick, but the red is so festive. It's hard to be definitive.
Snoopy's Christmas by The Royal Guardsmen will sound fabulous on this system... In WHITE for Snoopy, of course (down with the RED Baron)!
"Christmas Time Is Here" by the Vince Guaraldi Trio, of course.
(And definitely white.)
Well first I'd make the most of the sound quality by popping some Transiberian Orchestra on. I typically pretend that I hate them to my friends and family (my ears are actually burning this second as I type it), but they do sound pretty darn good loud. Particularly "Carol of the Bells." Then I'd put on Leon Redbone and Zoey Deschanel's "Baby It's Cold Outside." It's holiday-themed, smooth, and almost naughty. Perfect.
And black is perfect.
I'd play "O Tannenbaum" by Vince Guaraldi from the Snoopy Xmas Album, on a white Geneva Sound system, while decorating the tree with my husband. And crack open a microbrew (in true Northern California fashion) to enjoy the twinkly lights and a lazy Saturday afternoon alone when we're finished.
It's our little tradition, and it's the first day we get into the spirit of the season. We have the album on vinyl, and when side two has ended, the house has been transformed into our own little piece of Christmas.
"It's Beginning to Look Like Christmas" would sound great in White :)
There's nothing like 80's Christmas tunes: Wham!'s "Last Christmas" and although kind of depressing, Band-Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas?" I have to hear these songs every year!
Red please!
I would listen to "Thank God It's Christmas" by Queen on my shiny, new rock 'n roll RED sound system.
My dad's favorite Christmas song, "Feliz Navidad" by Jose Feliciano, although Pops is convinced the song is by Freddie Fender.
White, please!
i'm a downbeat fan regardless of the occasion, and right now I'm rediscovering the classics - the Suzuki album by Tosca, Big Calm by Morcheeba, anything by the Thievery Corp...
so walk in to my newly painted living room (inpsiration courtesty of the Fall Colours contest, thank you very much), sip a tumbler of Hangar One straight with a twist of lime, and relax to the mellow sweet Geneva beats. Let winter howl - we'll be just fine inside.
-berkeleydaisy
“Frosty the Snowman” by Man or Astroman
mmmmm..ReD.
Black has to look so sleek.
I would blast A Star To Follow from Christmas Eve and Other Stories by Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The song always gets me in the spirit of the holiday and sends shivers through me. I can only imagine what this would sound like a a good system that is not 14 years old.
I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm- Billie Holiday
Red-hot red please!
I love the Nutcracker Suite. It is so much fun.
Oh, and black please.
"Ave Maria Dolce Maria" by Roberto Murolo. Red, please.
I would love it in black! I love "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer".
The "Come Let Us Be Merry" cd by the Barolk Folk. I think I'd have to go with the black.
White please!
I'll be playing "I Have a Little Dreidel".
I'll be playing the 1963 classic album, A Christmas Gift for You from Phil Spector.
White, please!
I love "The Nutcracker Suite", especially Waltz of the Flowers. I also love red.
Oh wow what a cool gadget.
I would play the Elvis Christmas CD and the Sufjan Stevens Christmas Box Set.
In white please.......
"Sevivon, Sov, Sov, Sov" would be blasting on an infinite loop from my new, black sound system.
whoops! i should've said 'the RED mellow sweet Geneva beats' - a good contrast with the grey winter skies!
------
i'm a downbeat fan regardless of the occasion, and right now I'm rediscovering the classics - the Suzuki album by Tosca, Big Calm by Morcheeba, anything by the Thievery Corp...
so walk in to my newly painted living room (inpsiration courtesty of the Fall Colours contest, thank you very much), sip a tumbler of Hangar One straight with a twist of lime, and relax to the mellow sweet Geneva beats. Let winter howl - we'll be just fine inside.
We'll be playing, "Do They Know it's Christmas" which was sung by Band Aid in 1984 to raise money for Ethiopian famine relief. What's not to LOVE about the '80's and raising money for an important charity? We'd love the Geneva in RED!! Happy Holidays!!
I'd be listening to my favorite holiday song "What Are You Doing News Year's Eve?" by Ella Fitzgerald - on a red one!
Red, definitely. Would go perfectly with Eartha Kitt singing "Santa Baby".
Just one song? Well, if we had the WHITE system, I guess we could play "I'll be Home for Christmas" on repeat all the time, but it'll most likely just be our "25 Classic Christmas Songs" ringing through the house.
I'd like to see Red, and hear Gil Scott-Heron's "Angeldust"
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas by Judy Garland.
And Adam Sandler's Chanukah Song.
On my snazzy red Geneva!
I'd play "Baby, it's cold outside" because it always puts me in a festive and cheery mood with thoughts of snow, fireplaces, warm mugs and blankets. (And I can keep playing this song after the holidays into January.)
I love the red one - it would be a great way to add some color to my apartment.
i'll take mine in black, please.
and for the song: well, NOT that stupid adam sandler thing that gets played this time of year and, springsteen fan that i am, i think i'll still take a pass on "santa claus is coming to town". i think i'll go with 'merry christmas baby' by charles brown.
I have to also go with the Vince Guaraldi Trio with "Christmas Time is Here" from "A Charlie Brown Christmas". And red, since Snoopy's dog house is red.
Christmas Eve/Sarajevo by Trans-Siberian Orchestra
In White please!
Not strictly a Christmas song, but Two Thousand Miles by Chrissy Hynde always makes me think of Christmas and snow.
And that red is *amazing*. I need that lucky color around my place the way lately!!!
My favorite christmas songs are from "It's a Charlie Brown Christmas!" So I'm sure that would be playing.
A black or red one would be great!
oh i would go with the red model!
what to listen to, i think any of the Sufjan Stevens Songs for Christmas discs would be great for some cookie making.
The Pogues...Fairytale of New York would be playing on my RED Geneva Sound System!
hmm...one in red would certainly make our kitchen cheerier.
Blue Christmas by Elvis on a black sound system. What an awesome Christmas present!
First song I'd play: "Come On! Let's Boogey to the Elf Dance!" by Sufjan Stevens.
How difficult to choose- black, red, and white are all lovely. Red is so striking, I'd probably go with red.
I would play "You're a mean one, Mr Grinch" and I suppose I'd have to go with red as the perfect player color to match the song..... :)
Happy Holidays!
Tara
I'll take white, please. I'll be playing our all-time family favorite "We Need a Little Christmas" by the Golddiggers.
one in black would be perfect for the emo Bright Eyes christmas CD!
Oh, pretty red. Please!
Happy Holidays. I would enjoy white but would take any of the players. I would play I'll Be Home for Christmas because a friend of my family wrote the song and have Frank Sinatra sing it because he was in the Tommy Dorsey Band with my dad. :)
This is perfect... I've been looking at these types of systems for years but never got one.
Perhaps it's not original, but I'm going to have to go with BLACK and David Bowie & Bing Crosby singing "Little Drummer Boy".
The overwrought but still somehow brilliant "Do They Know Its Christmas" - it's got something for everyone! Boy George! Bono! Simon LeBon! And a nice reminder to feed the world, no matter how dated said reminder may be.
White would be lovely :)
I'd play Feliz Navidad!!!
And I'd like it in WHITE, por favor! :o)
Vince Guaraldi's classic A Charlie Brown Christmas would be playing out of a RED one for me!
I'm going with "Christmas in Hollis" by Run-DMC. It's got good beats and, one of their moms was in the video. It's also one of the few Christmas songs that doesn't make my teeth hurt.
I'd like the Geneva Sound System in red, please. That picture is irresistible.
We have a Christmas CD that I think we got at the grocery store, years ago. It includes some totally cheesetastic, disco-esque versions of holiday classics. I would love to hear that CD blaring out of a white Geneva Sound System.
Oh so so purty.
I'd most definitely play "im getting nuthin' for christmas" on the white. Such a fun song about a little boy who continues to get in trouble because he can't stop being a kid. Love it!
As a kid, I was cast-- and *repeatedly,* I might add-- in our local theater's production of "Scrooge!" I worked my way up from 2nd Smallest Cratchit Child to Eldest Cratchit Child to Head Ruffian to Fezziwig Party Guest (With grown-up clothes, even!) over the years. So for me, Christmas is inextricably entwined with the music of Leslie Bricusse and the score of "Scrooge!". If I had the white one (white, like the snows falling on Camden Town, or the ethereal gown of the Ghost of Christmas Past), I'd be recalling eight years' worth of "step-ball-change, turn, kick!" in my living room while singing "Father Christmas."
Or perhaps "Thank You Very Much" would be more appropriate?
God bless us every one!
i feel it in my fingers, i feel it in my toes, Christmas is all around me... from "Love actually"... and it has to be REd.
Ooh, Slade's "Merry Christmas Everybody"! I'd blast it out of a beautiful black Geneva Sound System.
i would play "just like christmas" by low on a red geneva sound system. i think the drums would sound nice...if the the system is as good as its $500 price tag suggests!
I'd be so happy with any color, but black would likely be my first choice. Oh I so want to hear, "Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas," -- I love Chris Isaak's version -- on this while making lots of cookies. what a great Christmas it would be! :)
I'll be playing "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" for you!
I'd LUV the black model!
HUGz! Jules
Was going to pick Simon LeBon's part of "do they know it's christmas?" but someone already said that. I'd just have to go with anything by Dead Moon because holiday music is just so terrible.
Red please.
White and "White Christmas"
Skid Row's "Jingle Bells" from the Monster Ballads Xmas CD, or course. On a white Geneva Sound System.
I absolutely love this.. very sleek.. and I love it in Red. I would listen to My Favorite Things by Diana Ross, I think.
I would love it in red.
I will be playing Deck The Halls.
Thank you!
I'm not much for religion, but I can get down right chokey about the reverence given mother and child in Christmas hymns. In that tradition, the first holiday song I would play is "Bring a Torch. Jeanette, Isabella" by Sufjan Stevens.
"Ah... ah... beautiful is the mother. Ah... ah... beautiful is her son."
and
"Quietly come and whisper, hush...hush, peacefully now he sleeps."
I think the lo-fi popping and the sweet simplicity of the song would sound just right on a black Geneva.
Black or white, baby.
The song I'd be blastin' is Santa Claus Go Straight To The Ghetto, by James Brown!
"Tell em James Brown sent you!"
Yeah!
"All I want for Christmas is You" Mariah Carey
She was in good back in the day, and right now, all i want for christmas is that system. In black please. :o)
Hard Candy Christmas by Dolly Parton, and I'd LOVE it in red or black. Heck, I'm not picky :)
If I win this sound system I'd like to play " Where do you go to(my lovely)" from the soundtrack of Darjeeling Limited over and over again. Red, white, black? Definitely RED!
The red would match my countertops as I'm listening to the White Christmas soundtrack.
The soundtrack from Elf would be playing. Specifically "Baby, It's Cold Outside" by Leon Redbone and Zooey Deschanel.
Black please.
I will be baking to the sounds of Sufjan Stevens' Christmas album. (And maybe something from Mariah Carey's eponymous holiday debut as well...)
I would love to own this in black!!!
Since "jingle bell rocks" is stuck in my head, I'd listen to that...and I'd go with GREEN to make it stand out a little. :)
I am not totally a cynic but I'm also not at all Christian, so I think I'd start with Sweet Honey in the Rock's "Will You Harbor Me" - to think about what we do, at this time in the year with so much attention to giving and generosity, in our personal lives for what is right, for those we love, and for those in great need whom we have never met.
It's a haunting song.
Oh, and this would be on my black Geneva Sound System, which (would have) managed to perfectly replace my ancient CD player just as it gave its last breath of functionality.
James Taylor's rendition of any Christmas songs will do it for me.
Color: RED!
Blue Christmas, of course :)
Black please!
The Christmas Jug Band with Santa lost a Ho or
Vince Vance and the Valients with All I want for Christmas is You.
The red one please
Dear Santa,
I have been a very good boy this year and would like nothing more then to have this beautiful sound system in Radio Flyer Red. I would place it on the carved elm console table that I got from the flea market and I would play Bing Crosby's "White Chrismas" Album featuring the Anrdews Sisters non stop till New Years. Mele Kalikimaka anyone?
Love,
Kristian
ps-will put out good cookies.
I like this bright red color showing in the picture,it's eye catching. If I win it I would be listening to The Chipmunk Song.My kids and I love this song we played over and over.
I'd bounce all up in the crib to Destiny's Child's "8 Days of Christmas". With Beyonce rapping about beepers and bling -- that record is timeless. Break mine off in black, yo.
Christmas Glory from Westminster with Andrea Bocelli and Charlotte Church...beautiful voices in my new red gift. ;-) Thanks and Happy Holiday's!!!!
Adam Sandler's The Hanukkah Song, of course :)
White would be my pick
Country music doesn't seem very in keeping with the minimalism and modern aesthetic of AT, but I'd play my Kathy Mattea Christmas CD, especially Brightest and Best. I love the kicky cocktail side of Christmas, but I really love the dark night, the bright star, the winter chill, the mother and child. The hopes and fears of all the years, indeed.
Oooh, my hubby wants a radio to play his iPod on this Christams! We would love BLACK, baby!
And we would be playing Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth, the duet by Bing Crosby and David Bowie!
A Charlie Brown Christmas the red one is amazing.....
Totally all about John Denver & The Muppets Christmas songs... And gotta go with the red on this one. It just looks hot
Oh, and white, I think. Like stars :)
I'll be playing, "We Three Kings", but only if I win it because I don't own a CD player right now! I think red looks sweet.
I'd play Pretender's melancholic "Have yourself a merry little christmas", but feel elated with a black one!
When my brothers, sister, and I were little, we pretty much melted our Alvin and the Chipmunks Christmas LP from overuse. On Thanksgiving my brother flashed his latest find: the Chipmunks Christmas record on CD. I am sure that will get plenty of nostalgia airplay this Christmas, and somehow would sound far less cheesy if emitted from this beautiful red sound system! Plus, it's my birthday today : )
White please.
Just like Christmas... by LOW
There's no better way to celebrate Christ's birth than with a song sung by His very best friend, Bono.
"Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) by U2 will be playing from my white Geneva Sound System.
tom petty & the heartbreakers' "christmas all over again."
yes, that would sound quite lovely, i'd say.
and red would be divine!
The only holiday song for this gorgeous sound system is 'Linus & Lucy' by the Vince Guaraldi Trio from "A Charlie Brown Christmas." My back up is 'My Favorite Things' recorded by John Coltrane.
I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas...
Only a hippopotamus will do
Don't want a doll, no dinky Tinker Toy
I want a hippopotamus to play with and enjoy...
(by Jon Rox and Sung by Gayla Peevey)
But a Red Geneva Sound System, would probably easy the childhood disappointment of never getting a hippo.
probably "I saw Santa in the law library"
It is not every child whose favorite Xmas music features counter-tenors, but my most cherished holiday album has always been the Deller Consort's "The Holly and Ivy:Christmas Carols of Old England," I'm not sure I could pick a favorite from the album. . . . maybe "We Three Kings". . . . Of course, it wouldn't be Christmas without Tino Rossi's "Petit Papa Noel."
Of course, it would have to be holly jolly red.
My favorite xmas song would be Frosty The Snow Man sung by Jimmy Durante. And I would love it blue :)
Ooooh! Lovely in Red, to match my kitchen!
~Kyle
Oooh! The Red is perfect!
I would love to play my favorite Holiday song on it, "Let There Be Peace on Earth"- which really, should be played EVERY day of the year.
RED!
and my fav Christmas tune - I WANT A HIPPOPOTAMUS FOR CHRISTMAS..... by John Rox
Oh, I have to second Fairytale of NewYork by the Pogues. Second to that would be the Roaches Christmas Carols. So poifect! I'd love a gray/brushed steel, but honestly? Any color will be juuuuust fine!
sorry that's by John Coctoasten and sung by Gayla Peevey !!!!!!!!
but i still want it in red!!!!!
John Coltrane's "Acknowledgement" from A Love Supreme. Not a traditional choice, but it captures the appropriate sentiment.
I'll take a black one, please.
This would look awesome on my counter. I need to rock my tunes while rocking my soup this winter. Yum!
Red please.
"Christmas with the Rat Pack" and white, please. Thanks!
"Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth" by Bing Crosby and David Bowie.
I'd love it in black for my black and white kitchen!
Great music... This puts you in the spirit just thinking of these tunes.
I'd have to make a playlist from all of these suggestions, making sure "Do they know it's Christmas", Eurythmics' "Walking in a winter wonderland", and there's a song from Erasure, can't think of the title... These would be included... and I'd play them from a white one!
Happy Holidays...
red please!
Etta James' version of the Christmas song.
I'll be playing Little Drummer Boy because it is not played enough. I'd be playing it on my red system because it looks so hot.
I would LOVE this system in Red! It would look great in my apartment! Of course, the holiday song that I would be playing on it is Frank Sinatra's White Christmas. He's the best!!!
Oh, white please...
Blue Christmas by Elvis
The women's social service worker in me wants to hear Amy Grant's "Breath of Heaven" (because, hey, Mary needs props, too) and the Christmas-loving kid in me wants Eartha Kitt's "Santa Baby", which couldn't be more opposite.
Both want it in red, though, so at least I'm partially of one mind.
Black for me
And I'd play Mele Kalikimaka as performed by Jimmy Buffett
I will have to second Adam Sandler's Hanukkah Song.
I think I would play 'Over the River and Through the Woods'. My aunt has recently discovered, through some intense genealogical detective-work, that Mrs. Child was our relative. However, more interestingy, my aunt also shared with us this woman's incredible history. She was one of the earliest American women to earn a living from her writing which included some early anti-slavery appeals. She knew that writing on this subject at the time would be widely unpopular and would significantly damage her public image. Nevertheless, she believed the anti-slavery cause to be the most crucial of her time and so spoke her opinions publicly and privately aided in the Underground Railroad.
So, I would play her song in tribute to a woman who stood up for what she believed in and could also write a nice little song about a sleighride to grandma's house.
RED! please, to play "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus.." by the Jackson 5!
My favorite color, red.
I will be playing my favorite CDs by Bob Rivers, "Twisted Christmas" and "Chipmunks Roasting" while at work, because they make me laugh. "Wreck the Malls" is a good one.
a little cd called "A Lump of COal"
wow -
A red one would look awesome! and of course I would be playing Please Christmas don't be late by Alvin and the Chipmunks!
The first song i'll play is Blue Christmas sung by Elvis Presley.
Then of course New Kids On the Block singing Funky Funky Xmas...but, of course.
Santa Claus "RED" please.
Fairytale of New York by No Use For A Name
Stevie Wonder's Little Drummer Boy
Red Please!
Away in a Manger by Willie Nelson. Yee Haw Ho Ho Ho.
White.
My black one would play my Boney M Christmas cd all day long for the month of december!
I just added Charlie Brown Christmas to my ipod on Tuesday and I would love to play it again and again on my new RED system. It would be loverly!!
"Stille Nacht". Red is awsome!
This would be a great addition to my home.
"The Christmas Song"
Dear Santa,
I think you'll find me solidly on the "nice list." Please, please, please send me the Geneva Sound System in White! I no longer have a chimney, but I do have a semi-sturdy fire escape out back and I can promise delicious cookies or, if you'd prefer, some braised short ribs.....
i'm deaf, so it has to be jingle bells on full blast. :D
Carmina Burana by Atlanta Symphony Orchestra on a black one would be perfect. I know its not really a Christmas song but it rocks and there was the Christmas light video done to it...
Sufjan Stevens' Christmas album will sound great in my kitchen on the red one....
Paint it Black... So i can rock out to Christmas Canon Rock by Trans-Siberian Orchestra after I get home from their Christmas Concert.
White and White Christmas... although to spice things up a bit, I'd be chilling with the Charlie Parker version.
Although Red is pretty sweet as well, and would coordinate nicely with Santa as he relaxes with his eggnog and cookies. . For that, I would have to create my own remix of Rudolf... I'd call it Geneva the Sweet Red Stereo!
I'd love it in black. Since we're Jewish, we're not cranking out the Christmas hits, but we have a cool CD that riffs on the Nutcracker story and instead makes it about a dreidel.
I have to choose one song? Can't...
Bowie/Bing Little Drummer Boy
Joni Mitchell River
Pretenders 2000 Miles
Charlie Brown Christmas
The Nutcracker (several different orchestral versions)
Spingsteen Santa Clause is Coming to Down
and on and on...
White, like snow.
As someone who works retail, there's very few holiday songs that I won't hear 10,000 times before New Year's, but I always enjoy Madonna's "Holiday" - even though it's not winter-holidays-specific. I'd like a shiny red Geneva, please.
Whoo-Hoo! Sign me up!
I would play the Charlie Brown Christmas Album - my Fave!
I'd love the sound system in Red
THANKS!
I'd love it in black! I'd play "It's Christmas" by John Lennon.
We'll be rockin to Winter Wonderland
Please make it red.
Thank you
Red is the one that grabs me! I'd use the Geneva system to transport me back to childhood with "A Charlie Brown Christmas" by Vince Guaraldi - a perfect way to chill out this holiday season with some cool jazz.
Well it's "Sing Along with Mitch Miller" time as far as I can tell. Each song on that album is a stone cold hit and I'll be singing them all as I make biscotti.
Oh and the Winter Wonderland White is my favorite!
Black, please!
will definitely play "What a wonderful world" by IZ, we first heard in Hawaii on top of Maune Kea.
white or red would be nice, surprize me!
I would play the "For Unto Us a Child is Born" chorus from Handel's Messiah. On a white one!
I want to listen to my morning jacket singing santa claus is coming to town on xmas RED!!!
Elf (the movie) Soundtrack. The movie is amazing, and surprisingly, so is the soundtrack.
RED please!
Oooh - very stylish! I'd like one in white.
I'd go with the Vince Guaraldi Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack - the first CD i reach for very year at Xmas.
Ooh! I'd pick red, and have to admit Eartha Kitt's Santa Baby would probably make it on there :)
I'm a huge U2 fan so I'd gratefully rock to their rendition of "Baby Please Come Home" on a black Geneva Sound System. Amen.
I'd be blasting Hark the Herald Angels Sing on the red one. Thanks!
Christmas Time is Here from the Vince Guaraldi Charlie Brown Christmas album.
Black would be nice.
forgot to add "white"
Ooooo... a red one would just be lo-ver-ly!
Of course I'd be playing Charlie Brown's xmas, followed by Bowie/Bing's drummer boy.
I would put that 100 watt amplifier to the test with Mr. B.B. King's "Baby It's Cold Outside"—and for purely nostalgic memories I'd play "Put one foot in front of the other" from Santa Claus is coming to town. That one might even come with a little dance.
For color choice, you just have to go with red. That machine was designed to be seen not to blend in.
All I Want For Christmas is You.. Vince Vance and the Valiants
or Christmas - Baby Please Come Home...Darlene Love
Red is my favorite.....very Christmas-y
"Blue Christmas" by Elvis!
(red please!)
A Charlie Brown Christmas by the Vince Guaraldi Trio.
White, please.
Happy Holidays! :-D
Charlie Brown's Christmas on the red machine seems quite festive
I would blast the entire Home Alone II soundtrack on a black one! Then maybe some silver bells.
nice!
All I Want for Xmas
black
When My Heart Finds Christmas by Harry Connick Jr
Black Please
white christmas - in red!
"Get Behind Me, Santa" (Sufjan Stevens' version, as another commenter mentioned). And the black model sure is nice!
Gotta go with Tarzan, Tonto & Frankenstein singing "Joy to the World" from SNL.
Red is pretty sharp.
Christmastime is here, from the Vince Guaraldi Trio's Charlie Brown Christmas.
Red, if I win.
Best Christmas song ever:
Clyde McPhatter & the Drifters' version of "White Christmas."
Best Christmas color ever:
the particular shade of red found on my new Geneva sound system. Whee!
"christmas song" by dave matthews and tim reynolds

The black Geneva sound system would be perfect! I would play
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas!
I like Red! And I'll be playing White Christmas by Nat King Cole.
White is nice,
Jimmy Boyd With Mitch Miller - I Saw Mommy Do The Mambo (With You Know Who)
Caro Gesu' bambino. What can I say? I get nostalgic for all things italian at Natale.
George Winston's "The Holly and The Ivy". Black please, and thank you!
My Bing Crosby Christmas CD, absolutely. But I'd throw in my Johnny Mathis too.
In red!
Little Drummer Boy on my red unit.
just last night I gave CDs for a birthday present. my friend put them on and picked up a remote and it sounded great and I wished I had a spiffy new music player like hers. Greensleeves, my favorite carol and the soundtrack of the Christmas babies in my family. And Happy Christmas, War is Over. Any color. surprise me.
Christmas Eve...I HAVE to play "All I want for Christmas is My 2 Front Teeth" as my 5 year old just lost her 2 front teeth!
After the kids are asleep I would crack open the Irish Whiskey for a hot toddy and have a listen to Tom Waits "Christmas Card From A Hooker In Minneapolis." - classic.
Happy Christmas by John Lennon ( with a bit o Yoko in there too)
Black pleeeease
I will be playing a simpsons xmas song! white please
I say: God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen (Canadian Brass style, for sure)
color = white [christmas, fingers crossed], please.

I'm not sure if this counts as a christmas song, but it does to me. "Thank You, Jack White" (for the fiberoptic jesus that you gave me)...by the Flaming Lips.
Red please! Thank you!
My favorite Christmas song is Dean Martin's "Baby It's Cold Outside."
Black please!
Hi You All!
I am a big Karen Carpenter fan and would love to hear "Merry
Christmas Darling" on a RED GENEVA SOUND SYSTEM!
The Bare Naked Ladies' "Elf's Lament2 would sound wonderful on a white Geneva to start off... and later on, at about 2 am, when I am thoroughly dusted in flour and on a buzz trying to get through an impossible list of cookies for one night (vanilla crescents, cinnamon stars, chocolate "walnuts", raspberry and apricot linzer cookies, gingerbread), I'll play Loreena McKennitt's "To Drive the Cold Winter Away" to chill a bit.
I'd play the Pretenders "2000 Miles". Love the white.
the red would look amazing, it doesn't match anything i have, and i think that's why i like it so much.
i would play "baby it's cold outside" Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Jordan
one of my favorite songs, i just love when it's cold. only thing that could make it better is a real wood fireplace or driving on an old country road when it's really dark and you can smell someone's wood burning fire.
Sufjan Stevens, "Come on! Let's Boogey to the Elf Dance"
OOh la la, Eartha Kitt belting Santa Baby out of my new red Geneva Sound System. Perfection.
Sufjan Stevens, "Come on! Let's Boogey to the Elf Dance"
Ooops...forgot the color: White!
john and yoko,
"Happy Christmas (War Is Over)."
if only.
white.
sign me up for the red and picture it playing
"another lonely christmas" by prince and "happy xmas (war is over)" by john lennon and yoko ono
Sigur Ros' Takk because it sounds like winter.
White
The entire catalogue of Elvis Presley singing Christmas carol classics-some of my earliest memories are of family Christmases, the soundtrack to which was always the King.
And the red is right up my alley!
Bing Crosby, White Christmas!
I will be listening to "There is no rose" by Britten which my choir recorded last year.
And I'd like the classic white...as tempting as red is, I'll use white for a very, very long time.
Bing Crosby, White Christmas!
White color please! Thanks!
i'm not big on holiday pop songs, but handel's "messiah" is always welcome in my home!
so is the red stereo. :)
Oh, I really would cook if this was in my kitchen! A little Brian Setzer Orchestra Christmas music and spiked egg nog would make baking cookies as much fun as eating them. White, please!!
Please Daddy Don't Get Drunk This Christmas by John Denver (with an open bottle of wine of course)
And to match my wine I'd love the system in red, it is so good looking!
I'd love a white one! I promise I won't blast WHAMs! last christmas too loudly..
the kinks - father christmas, blasting at full volume from a black geneva. hohoho.
I'm Jewish, so no Christmas songs. But, there would be lots of the Clash and Elvis Costello to jump around to during Holiday Parties, while I'm cooking. And, reading. And, hanging out and reading to the kid and looking around the AT site...
I'd play Hurry X'mas by L'arc~en~ciel in the red Geneva Sound System!
I think this would look really sleek in white, specially against my bright aqua walls. I'd have to play "Baby, It's Cold Outside" (I'm originally from Miami, so I totally follow the logic - "Oh, baby, you'll freeze out there").
I'd play "Christmas Is Going To The Dogs" by Eels. And then I'd admire my beautiful red sound system and gloat.
I'd be playing "Hard Candy Christmas" by Dolly Parton - that one still makes me cry every time, but makes me remember all the (good) drama of being single too... sigh!
The red one is soooo pretty! thanks AT!
I would LOVE to blast "All I Want for Christmas is You" by Mariah Carey on my brand new RED Geneva sound system!!!
"Christmas Eve on the Big Bayou,"
... 'cause it's just not Christmas without it!
That little baby would look foxy in white...
'Dominick the Donkey' starts creeping into my head and playing on repeat around December 1st... Chingity-ching! Heehaw heehaw! The italian Christmas donkey...
Oh no, now I'll be humming it the rest of the day.
I would much prefer to hear it pumping out of this fiery red Geneva sound system!
I WILL BE HEARING THE SOUNDS OF ANDY WILLIAMS SINGING "THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR" ON MY BLACK GENEVA SOUND SYSTEM, IF I WIN, THANKS
Anything Harry Connick Jr. Probably Frosty the Snowman :)
White Please
I love the red!
The first holiday song will have to be Cool Santa performed by a grade 5 choir in my hometown. It is awful but a must every Christmas.
Latke Clan or Jewish Girls (at the Matzoh Ball) by the LeVees
AM I the only one thinking Hanukkah?!
MMMM I am looking forward to fried food and fun.
I would love it in White please.
I can just hear it now,
Joy To The World.
It's playing strong and loud (and I'm singing along, of course!) on the black Geneva Sound System.
I would like the white one. I would play the Barenaked Ladies cd, Barenaked For the Holidays. Then maybe a little Big Bad Voodoo Daddy playing something from their Everything You Want For Christmas. Just the thing for a movin' and groovin' holiday.
Bing Crosby...White Christmas
"Merry Christmas Darling" by The Carpenters. Love that song and will love it more coming from a black Geneva Sound System.
The black one would be great.
We always start the holidays with Bing Crosby's White Christmas.
I'd be playing anything from Elvis's Christmas Album. But on a black player because Christmas comes but once a year, and this is New York, after all.
"All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth" -- (Nat King Cole) -- so I can wish you Merrrry Christmas!
In *RED* please!
Thankee.
I'd play "I've got my love to keep me warm" and pick the red one (OF COURSE). And yes, it gets cold in Texas!
Charlie Brown Christmas on my red GSC. Thanks in advance.
I'd be listening to Panis Angelicus by Josh Groban
and I'd like black if I win
I would listen to what has become a Christmas classic for me, Ida's "Blizzard of '78". In white, of course.
"The snow is falling down
And the whole damn town is covered with white
It's obvious that trust is the catch and the magnet
That could pull you through this braille night"
I'd play the "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" from "Nutcracker" and I think white looks the coolest :)
I would love to boogie along while Sufjan Steven's "Come on, let's boogie to the Elf Dance" was playing on a black one of these. Then I would listen to the Carpenter's Christmas album that my parent's always used to play.
I would love a Rudolf’s nose colored red sound system. And I would pump us up for holiday cheer with a little John Lennon.
Baby, It's Cold Outside (Mulato Beat Remix) on the Holiday Lounge remix CDs. I found these mixes a few years back and it brings a whole new vibe to our holiday music.
A black one would make my spirits bright...
Listening to "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" by Coldplay in a white sound system would be dreamy.
J-J-J--Jingle Bells! By Bing Crosby and the Andrew Sisters! I could bop around the house in my festive red santa hat (much like Bing himself on the album cover of "White Christmas") listening to this snappy tune on my RED Geneva. Oh, the thought of that sweet red shiny bauble just makes me drool....
i second john denver's recording of "please daddy don't get drunk this xmas"
perfect for tree decorating
really
and if i'm a winner i'd turn it into a festive, foot stomping mash-up
not picky on color ;
they're all beautiful

http://yule_rejoice.tripod.com/c-midi/chipmunksong.mid
Double happiness: A red soundsystem playing the Muppets' Swedish Chef Christmas Smorgasbord song (ludfisk! swedish meatballs! unintellible swede-like garble!). How could that not just turn any day into a happy holiday?
The Chipmunks christmas song with my kids and I would love a red one!!
love the red.
definitely bing crosby and david bowie's "little drummer boy" duet.
Gwen, I just wanted to say I love you for making me remember Coltrane's version of My Favorite Things. That was the first jazz recording I ever heard... I found the tape under the seat of my parent's car and played it until it melted in my awful little 80's boombox.
*memories....*
Little drummer boy by Bing Crosby and David Bowie.
Red would be nice and festive.
The late, great Charles Brown, of course, singing Merry Christmas, Baby. And a nice, shiny piano black would be lovely.
I think I'll go with an old Christmas classic; Nat King Cole's 'The Christmas Song'! And keeping with the Christmas spirit, I'll go with the color RED!
I will play my 4 year old son's favorite...Jingle Bells. I like the black.
I'd play Santa Baby by Macy Grey. Red, please.
My daughter has just seen Charlie Brown Christmas so I will probably play the Charlie Brown Christmas cd.
If I win, I'd like the red one, please.
Thanks!
As hokey as it is, I love Paul McCartney's "Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time"...it's just so happy and my head starts bobbing from side to side every time it plays.
If I were to win the Geneva Sound System (in white, of course), I would play a super cool holiday compilation a friend of mine gave me a couple of years ago. It has everything from Christmas songs by the Chipmunks to groovy Swedish holiday tunes on it.
Christmas Time Is Here - Vince Guaraldi
The entire Sufjan Steven's Songs for Christmas Box Set...with Amazing Grace on Repeat. In black please.
Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas is You." Because you cannot deny the bounciness.
And red! Red red red!
Oh, and I love the red!
An oldie but a goodie: the Charlie Brown Christmas CD. I'm a kid of the 70s and "Linus and Lucy" is hardwired into my personal Christmas soundtrack.
I'd love one in black!
Thanks for the contest, and happy holidays!
I would like the black. The Christmas song I'll be playing is "I'll be Home for Christmas". thank you
a red one for my red house :)
thank you giving us a chance to win this!
I'd play "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" - the Judy Garland version from "Meet Me in St. Louis" in the red. While making scrumptious rum balls!
Red, please, so I can listen to Dolly Parton's Hard Candy Christmas.
Marshmallow World by Dean Martin
White please!
Definitely red!
I'm a fan of Elvis's Christmas album. But it would have to share time with Squirrel Nut Zipper's "Christmas Caravan."
I would listen to Diana Krall's cheery yet classy version of "Charmed Life", sort of like the product itself.
I'd be playing "Angels We have Heard on High" by Adam Again.
In black.
I would be playing The little drummer boy (pruppuppumpum) and would very much like the red one please.

Well to be perfectly honest, I don't listen to Christmas music. I prefer to complain about being a member of the Tribe living in a Christian society :) I'll more likely be playing Sufjan Stevens or Emily Haines while lounging in bed with my lovely Spouse.
In white pretty please.
Red for me, please! :D
Britten's Ceremony of Carols.
Anything from the Charlie Brown Christmas Album. I love that one! I'll take a Red one please!

"I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" from the movie "White Christmas"
White, of course, to match the song.
I will be putting the "Rat Pack Christmas Album" on repeat this year for our holiday party and having this fine looking sound system would greatly decrease the odds of my boyfriend smashing the stereo to bits once he is driven mad by holiday cheer.
White please!
i'd be playing elvis' christmas album- very fun.
i'm borrowing a friend's stereo at the moment, but have to give it back in january... a white geneva would fill it's place just beautifully (winkwink)!

Billie Holiday's " I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm"
Black please!!!
I'd have to go with "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" by the Prentenders, or "Santa Baby" by Eartha Kitt. Red would be rad.
I'd love to hear 'White Christmas' as performed by the amazing exotica vibes player, Arthur Lyman (from his Christmas album, 'With a Christmas Vibe'). Ideally, I'd hear this tune on a new white Geneva Sound System. Fingers crossed!
I'd play "If You Knew" by Nina Simone...thinking of those who can't be close this holiday season. Definitely on the white one.
The red one is quite attractive.
I think I'd play the Hanukkah Song by Adam Sandler.
Red is a HOT color this year!
I'm all about winning and giving gifts!
This Red HOT music system would be perfect for my step-daughter who is into every RED this year!:)

I would play Fairytale of New York, which always makes me feel a little wistful, on a red one.
Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire - Nat King Cole version. I've posted the works if you would like to sing along....
BTW, I would love a red one to match my funky sofa.
Thanks and happy holidays.
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
Yule-tide carols being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like Eskimos.
Everybody knows a turkey
and some mistletoe
Help to make the season bright
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight.
They know that Santa's on his way
He's loaded lots of toys
and goodies on his sleigh
And every mother's child is gonna spy
To see if reindeer
really know how to fly.
And so I'm offering this simple phrase
To kids from one to ninety-two
Although it's been said
many times, many ways
Merry Christmas to you.
Everyone's a Kid at Christmas Time - Stevie Wonder

silent night by the temptations, playing on my red sound system...how perfect that would be!
"Christmastime" by the Smashing Pumpkins, played on a red system, if you please!
Happy holidays to all! :D
With such an unusual player, I would have to pick a more unusual tune. I think that you would find me listening to the "Boar's Head Carol" from the classic Rykodisc 'Carols for Christmas'. I think the red unit would be perfect. Happy holidays to all.
this is awesome and red would look great
"Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want" by The Smiths, of course!
And I'll take Black on the outside, since black is how I feel on the inside. ;)
"Rock-n Christmas"
I'd play "All I Want For Christmas Is You", the Prince Valiants and the Valiants version. And I'd love it in white! Christmas music is essential to getting the holiday spirit revved up in Los Angeles!
For kicks, I'd start with the Chipmunk's Christmas song :)
Black, please.
I'll be playing "The Chipmunk Song" by Alvin & The Chipmunks. Santa, please bring me the red one.
River by Joni Mitchell
Red
What a beautiful system!
Fabulously retro! It's not Christmas without some 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' - Band Aid. Merry Christmas Bob Geldof...feed the World!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jEnTSQStGE
I would love the RED, which would match the color of my front door perfectly.
If I had to pick one song: "December Will Be Magic Again" by Kate Bush. I just love the imagery:
Light the candle lights to conjure Mister Wilde
Into the Silent Night
Ooh it's quiet inside
Here in Oscar's mind
December will be magic again
Its not christmas in my house without listening to Alvin and the Chipmunks (We Wish You a Merry Christmas is my favorite)..I'm sure it would sound even better on a Geneva Sound System in black..wow that would be awesome!!!
I'd play 'do they know it's Christmas' Band Aid. I could then sell my old ipod dock and use that money to buy a toilet or fresh water supply for a 3rd world village via Oxfam.

ill be playing the mariah carey christmas cd.
Oh I would be playing the always entertaining John Waters Christmas cd on my really stunning white Geneva Sound System (while making glogg, of course!).

The soundtrack to Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas, a true holiday classic! On the black one. :)

I would be thrilled to hear Danny Elfman's "Kidnap the Sandy Claws" on a red Geneva Sound System!
Oooo, pick me! “My Little Drum” by the Vince Guaraldi Trio (from A Charlie Brown Christmas) will play over and over again in my house for the next month. It will sound so much better on a little red speaker box.
Santa, Baby by Eartha Kitt
Red would be perfect
I'd play my Chanticleer albums, and I'd love a black one please!
Something modern deserves something vintage.
Red; Irving Berlin's White Christmas.
BTW, Berlin was "almost" my great grandfather. My Great Grandmother broke off their engagement.
Sweet!
I bet it could really help me belt out "Baby, It's Cold Outside!" to my two little ones. Any color would be alright, but I'd fight for white.
Jackson 5's "Christmas Album." Somewhat hard to find, but worth it – album full of soulful classics and originals that is truly a joy.
I'll take white to blend in with my minimal tastes.
Cheers!
Can Canadian enter???
Paul Mc Cartney's "Wonderfull Christmas Time"
Huem, white, I think... no. wait, reee.. no white, yes ree no white.

:D
I would like it in black and I would blast the song "Grandma got run over by a reindeer"
The entire Love Actually soundtrack. Its perfectly moody without making me think about trivial things like presents and shopping.
Man, dim sum, why did you have to steal my idea?
Although I'll go for the version of "Baby it's cold outside" from "Elf". Or the Steve Tyrell version.
Santa Claus Is Coming To Town - Dolly Parton!
The white is my choice. I'd play Waitresses - Christmas Wrapping whilst dancing around my little apartment getting ready for the holidays.
blue christmas by elvis
I will be playing "River" by Joni Mitchell.
White, if you please!
Oh, and I don't care which color it comes in -- I'm not picky when its free!
Anything on my HolidayParty iPod playlist would work here...especially in that sharp unit. But oh, wouldn't I just dance a jig.
No color preference. It's not like anything goes with the avocado green tiles in my rental's kitchen anyway.
I would play Santa Baby written by Joan Javits and song by Eartha Kitt. It's my all time favorite Christmas Song. I remember my grandmother playing it when I was a little girl. I'm really into the winter white this year. I would love a white Geneva Sound System.
nat king coles "Christmas Song" playing on a white one :)
RED please.
It comes in white, you say? White like snow?
Well then it'll be perfect for "Let it Snow" by good ol' Bing. :)

RED Please!
Django Reinhardt, "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm", red!
I would play Mariah Carey's "All I want for christmas is you" while wrapping up the gifts I have bought so far :)
I would LOVE to get it in black!
Well, since our house was reduced to an white-hot ashy pile of debris during last weekend's Malibu canyon fire, I'd prefer one in white. Why not stick with the theme of total holiday season destruction?
And the song? Run DMC's "Christmas in Hollis" of course. (It's my dad's favorite, and mine as well.)
I don't know. How bout something decidedly non-holiday.
You'll Never Win with a Girl from Marin by AFI
Ooooh, I'd want black! and I'd play The Waitresses "Christmas Wrapping" OR, even better, The Spice Girls cover of it. You know, in honor of their reunion. :)
The white one would either be playing 2000 miles by The Pretenders...or...Somewhere in my Memory by John Williams
Well that's generous of you!
If it were mine, I'd choose white. And I'd be playing Come On! Let's Boogey to the Elf Dance! by Sufjan Stevens during the party and O Holy Night after the party. That one's too good to share with everyone all at once.
Merry Christmas, and congratulations to the winner!
I'll be playing one of the Sufjan Stevens Christmas albums!

Santa Baby I would love the system in red.
Merry Xmas From the Space-Age Bachelor Pad by Esquivel would be on repeat...
....on the white one!

I love the holidays, they give me an excuse to redecorate. (Like anyone here needs an excuse). This years Christmas color scheme is red. All red. And I'm sittin' on Santa's lap and askin' him for a pretty red Geneva sound system to match. *puppy eyes*
I will be playing Silent Night on this Great System!Black is surely is the ideal color.Have a Great Day and Happy Holidays. What a Great Site!
santa baby because I hope he'll hurry down my chimney tonight and I'd love PINK in honor of our sisters who have fought the battle with breast cancer or red the color of strength.
Christmas In Hollis - Run-D.M.C. from A Very Special Christmas vol 1.
Would love it in Red : )
The red one is brilliant!
Ella Fitzgerald - What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?
Would LOVE the red but each any would match.
Sufjan Stevens-Come on! Lets Boogie with the Elf from his Songs for Christmas album
"The Twelve Days of Christmas", with its total of 364 presents, and the Geneva Sound System as the 365th to make it a present a day in a year! (Well, an extra one for a Leap Year...).
And oh, red please....
Such a techtastic system calls for a suitably modern mix.
The Ravonettes --The Christmas Song
Death Cab For Cutie --Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)
The Polyphonic Spree --Happy Christmas, War Is Over
Low --Just Like Christmas
My dinner guest will be so impressed with my new (black lacquer, please!) system and impeccable taste that they will coin a new term: Treegazer Music
The red is fantastic. I think I'll be playing Twelve Days of Christmas by John Denver and the Muppets.
White Christmas - fave Christmas song :)
Black please
Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree. With one in Black!

i'll be playing all three of the Chanukah songs by Adam Sandler, woot, woot!
and the red would be seriously awesome to have!
I'd play "O Holy Night" - the Martina McBride version. My eyes fill with tears and my heart fills with joy every time I hear that song...and she sings it the best.
black please!
I'll be enjoying a little tune called "my other car is a centaur" by The Great Redneck Hope from their album "Behold The Fuck Thunder." this holiday season. And I always bet on black.
Barabara Streisand singing Christmas songs is a great album!
and i looooove the red one!
It's too hard to pick one song, so I'd be playing the entire Trans-Siberian Orchestra Christmas Eve and Other Stories and I'd love it in Christmas red. Thank you!
Hmm; red is gorgeous. I think I'd play the 'Santa Bring my Baby Back to me', version by Belle and Sebastian from their Christmas Peel session.
the red one - to play the acoustic version of
Christmas in My Soul by Laura Nyro
Christmas And The Beads Of Sweat
Come young braves
Come young children
Come to the book of love with me
Respect your brothers and your sisters
Come to the book of love
I know it ain't easy
But we're gonna look for a better day
Come young braves
Come young children.
I love my country as it dies
In war and pain before my eyes
I walk the streets where disrespect has been
The sins of politics, the politics of sin
The heartlessness that darkens my soul
On Christmas.
Red and silver on the leaves
Fallen white snow runs softly through the trees
Madonnas weep for wars of hell
They blow out the candles and haunt Noel
The missing love that rings through the work
On Christmas.
Black panther brothers bound in jail
Chicago seven and the justice scale
Homeless Indian on Manhattan Isle
All God's sons have gone to trial
And all God's love is out of style
On Christmas.
Christmas in my soul
Christmas in my soul
Christmas in my soul.
I'll be playing Johnny Cash's Blue Christmas. I know he's the Man in Black but its red for me please, to match my iPod.
Goodness! This would have been mighty handy today as I baked two loaves of bread, made yummy cilantro and chive falafels, roasted sweet potatoes for a West African peanut stew, and began pouring over cookbooks for holidays puddings and sweets. I think the red would rock; add little spice to my kitchen decor!
But you know what? I am just so thankful for this site which has long provided me with wonderful tips and ideas.
Thanks!
Red would look oh-so-pretty in my house while Sufjan Stevens' "Songs for Christmas" album plays as I bake Christmas (and Chanukah!) cookies :)
I would love to listen to I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas. I've always loved that song.
Thanks for offering this contest. What a Fantastic prize. Would really love this. Thanks and Happy Holidays.
Lou Monte's - Dominic the Italian Christmas Donkey

Lovely, pure white. How wonderful it would be to have Maurice Chevalier's not-quite-sung christmas album floating through the kitchen!
Thanks for the great site!
First Noel by Bad Religion on my White Geneva Sound System would be amazing!!
The Roches singing the Hallejulah Chorus
http://www.roches.com/television/ss83hc.html
To which I'll listen while trying to replicate the Santa face cookies (with coconut beards) that a nice old lady used to make for all the kids in my neighborhood.
So that I can become that nice old lady.
Happy holidays everyone!
(Any color would be delightful.)
White Christmas by Frank Sinatra - such a classic!
I would love it in red, thanks!
My favourite colour is Red; so that's the one I'd be picking. This really is a beautiful prize.
Silent Night to me is the most beautiful of Christmas songs; I used to sing it to my daughter in my belly when I was 8-9 months pregnant.
Its such a soothing and peaceful song.
Thanks for the great contest.
"I saw mommy kissing santa klaus" by the jackson 5.
I like the white.

Peanuts Christmas Soundtrack. :)
White please!
baby it's cold outside- the version that z. deschanel sings in the elf.
and i'd like the red one please
thanks
This would bring much joy to Mudville. My trusty Nakamichi just bit the dust and thus I have been early Hanukah (maybe not so early) shopping to console myself and seek alternatives. And of course this made it's way to the top of the list....
So, specially as Hanukah lacks a bit in the decor department (no dancing elves, leaping reindeer or jolly Santas to embroider on sweaters) a sweet bit of audio joy could be easily adorned with a nice modernist menorah?? a little Jonathan Adler? and perhaps some Adam Sandler (what would be the jewish version of carolling?) in the background.
My favorite holiday song is "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" because I did see that. I was way too old when I realized that the Santa outfit was not for me and the siblings but for Mom & Dad. The music that I will play after the holidays is what counts: some thing that will make me and the boyfriend dance together....;) ;)
I would choose the red version. I may not be the most deserving asking for this 'gift' but I can assure you that it will have a good home with many happy memories if I do get it.
Sufjan Stevens - That was the worst christmas ever.
So many comments... but it's worth a shot!
I'd love to listen to my Elvis christmas songs ("Blue Christmas"!) on a black one...
I would love this in red or black and I'd play Otis Redding's version of White Christmas. His voice is amazing and so full of soul.
Oh so very RED! Why I'd listen to Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, of course!
I would love to win one in white! Little Drummer Boy would be great to play on it.
judy garland’s “have yourself a merry little christmas” or frank sinatra’s “winter wonderland.” (or anything else by frank)
it isn’t the kind of music I would listen to normally, but the best christmas music isn’t. for me, the best christmas music is safe and warm and reminds you of all of the other happy christmases.
and I’d like a white one please.
It's gotta be Johnny Mathis Christmas songs! White would be Florida-rific!!
Adam Sandler's Hannukah song - since I don't think there are a lot of renditions of Dreidel, dreidel, dreidel available on I-Tunes.
I could be wrong.
And the black would go really well in my new apartment...
I will be playing I Saw Three Ships by Sufjan Stevens on my white system. :-D
Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say,
On a bright Hawaiian Christmas Day,
That's the island greeting that we send to you
From the land where palm trees sway,
Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright,
The sun to shine by day and all the stars at night,
Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii's way
To say "Merry Christmas to you."
by der Bingle, of course.
Alvin and the chipmunks of course!
Id love this in Red!
white! and the entire Jingle Cats 'Meowy Christmas' album (it's my cat's first christmas with us - gotta make him feel at home)
Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say,
On a bright Hawaiian Christmas Day,
That's the island greeting that we send to you
From the land where palm trees sway,
Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright,
The sun to shine by day and all the stars at night,
Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii's way
To say "Merry Christmas to you."
and forgot to add--red, please.
Santa Baby
by Everclear.
It hurts so good... and the combination of Everclear in my house and Everclear in my Eggnog should make my neighbors bearable.
Red Please.
Peace & Love
There is nothing better than cooking with the music blasting. :D
Silent Night!
Definitely black to match my iPod :)
Blue Christmas.
Dear Santa,
I haven't written you in a long time, I know. (Please don't take that personally.) But I couldn't resist when AT dangled this beautiful idea in front of me. SO...
I would play my new favorite arrangement of an old holiday tune, CAROL OF THE BELLS performed by The Bird and The Bee. I think it would sound amazing coming out of a white Geneva Sound System in my living room (I can almost hear my friends' champagne glasses clinking in warm holiday wishes in the background) -- and I promise you that in 2008, when I do the gut renovation on the kitchen that AT has inspired and prepared me to do -- I'll enjoy even more music with guests as I continue to realize that new homeowner's dream of making a house uniquely one's own.
Happy Holidays to all!
in white please!
by Elvis
"Do They Know It's Christmas" would definitely get a lot of play.
any color is cool with me.
Last Christmas... but the Jimmy Eat World version. It doesn't make you want to cry like Wham!'s version.
I love the red! I'd be playing Bootsy Collins Christmas is 4 Ever
I usually don't go for red, but I love the way it looks! In our household, we will be playing the ONLY Christmas songs allowed when I was growing up - selections from Elvis Presley's "Christmas Album" - with "Blue Christmas" being at the top!
Black and I'll play a John Water's Christmas.
I would love white and white christmas if my fav
Christmas Song-Nat King Cole
Black would be nice, thank you!
"Baby, It's Cold Outside" - the Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong version.
Black please!
Merry Christmas!!
Not very creative at this point, but definitely "Fairytale of New York" by the Pogues. Irreverent, but sentimental at the same time.
I'm a country girl so, Dolly Partons' "Away in a Manger". If I win, Blacks the color for me.
Great giveaway!
I'd love to own this, as our cooking music is currently supplied by an ancient "boom box" shoved on top of our fridge.
The red is perfect for our kitchen, which is painted an unfortunate 50's-era mint green.
During the holidays, I would listen to Baby It's Cold Outside (my favorite holiday song), Charlotte Gainsbourg, Zero 7 and podcasts of Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me!
"I got my love to keep me warm" by Dean Martin
and Id love a white Geneva Sound System, its so cool. just like Deno.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
I'd play "O Holy Night."
I'd love it in black! Thanks for a great contest.
This would look great in my key lime green and red kitchen!
i would love a black one for my gf for christmas
the song we will play will be
"christmas time in hollis queens" - RUN DMC

Happy Holidays Everyone!
I would like one in red. I would play "Blue Christmas" by Elvis.
It really is a gorgeous stereo.
I'm going to go with 'Behold the Lamb of God' by Donna Summer on the Red set.
Joyeux Noel
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, the Aimee Mann version. I'd like black, please.
Id love to listen to Vince Guaraldi's Charlie Brown Christmas on the red one.
First I'd play Lorrie Morgan's 90s remake of "My Favorite Things" -- not written as a Christmas song by Rogers & Hammerstein, but she released it as such and has become a tradition for country stations (yee haw, I'm Southern).
Then into my two George Strait Christmas CDs.
I want this in red!!! Would look gorgeous in our bedroom -- we have a brick wall and use a lot of red accents.
I would play "Christmas time is here" from the Charlie Brown Christmas cd. If I was lucky enough to win one I would love it in red!
Thanks for the contest!
I like RED baby!! I will be playing Elvis for Christmas.
I'll be playing Sleigh Ride - an underappreciated holiday classic.
I would be listening to Neil Diamond's Christmas songs, mostly for the irony factor. And who doesn't love The Neil?
(But really, it would be great to have the ability to alternate between iPod and all the CDs I haven't managed to bring myself to put onto iTunes yet. In black.)
Boston Pops Sleigh Ride. Hopkey i know, but I LOE the whip cracks in that song.
Red!!!
xoxo
Tony Bennett's "My Favorite Things" (his Christmas Album is so good). The red looks fantastic posted above - that one, and thanks for running this!
ooh, this would be perfect to replace our now defunct stereo!! Love the red...
Ooh, that red is pretty and certainly matches my Le Creuset pot! I would definitely play the Christmas Canon by Trans-Siberian Orchestra---on repeat.
Superstition blasting out of the red one would provide tremendous apartment therapy. Stevie makes every day feel like a holiday!
Beautiful. I will be playing Loreena McKennitt's lovely recording of the very old "Coventry Carol," and if I were to win this, I would love the red color.
In red please - it will go so nicely with all the changes I've made to my teeny apartment thanks to your website!!!!
I think first we'll play "I heard the bells on Christmas Day" by Frank Sinatra while my husband and I cook up some homemade cocoa.
Thanks!
Megan
Black please
Silent Night
Christmas in Hollis (Run DMC), Jingle Bell Rock, and all of Ella Fitzgerald's Ella Wishes you a Swinging Christmas.
I like the red (but I'll take the white and the black, too!)
It just isn't Christmas until I hear "The Riverbottom Nightmare Band" from Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christams Album. It's honestly the best Christmas CD ever. And if you don't know what I'm talking about buy the DVD too. Jim Henson was a genius!
White please.
Messiah: XII. Chorus: "For Unto Us a Child Is Born" by Academy of Ancient Music on a black Geneva Sound System. yum.
i want a red one for my yellow and red kitchen, thank ya veddy much. on it would play white christmas/merry christmas baby by none other than Mr Otis Redding.
huzzah!
I'd want a white one....or a red.....maybe a black one....
Oh, red pretty please! And I will be listening to the version of a tipsy Ella singing "Baby, It's Cold Outside."
Baby, It's Cold Outside - Leon Redbone & Zooey Deschanel - Elf Soundtrack.
I'm not getting married, not expecting my first kid, it wouldn't be replacing my barely working boombox... but I want one anyway.
Snowy white!
The red is awesome, but I'd prefer the black. I'll be playing A Carnegie Hall Christmas Concert ("Alleluja"). Merry Christmas to all!
From the white system will come: "Someday at Christmas" by Stevie Wonder.
(Someday at Christmas
men won't be boys
playing with bombs
like kids play with toys
One warm December
our hearts will see
a world where men are free
Someday at Christmas
there'll be no wars
when we have learned what Christmas is for
when we have found what life's really worth
there'll be peace on earth....)
Thanks to AT for the fun contest and to the other contestants for bringing us into the Christmas spirit by sharing music.
Any song by-Trans-Siberian Orchestra
I would love to win for my son, in black.
What fun! I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and may all their hopes and dreams come true. ~EnigLdy
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas and plenty of non-holiday songs :-)
White Christmas by the Drifters! (Home Alone flashback!) For the longest time, I though Bing Crosby was the coolest guy ever for departing from his usual crooning, and I felt a little sheepish when I finally learned who the real group was. Once I figured it out, I kept it in my playlist for days. In April.
I'd crank that tune up on my classy white Geneva, which would make my white TV (Don't ask. Never ask about the white TV.) bitterly jealous of its gleaming newness.
Bing Crosby's White Christmas. And Black, of course!
i love the red...
This is a piece of art on its own...no blending in with black or white!
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
black
All I want for Christmas are my two front teeth
Red, please
That red is *gorgeous*. I would play Chris Botti's I'll Be Home for Christmas.
The one and only Tom Lehrer must be heard at this time of year, with his classic "A Christmas Carol" - the last verse:
So, let the raucous sleigh bells jingle,
Hail our dear old friend Kris Kringle,
Driving his reindeer across the sky.
Don't stand underneath when they fly by.
and of course "Do They Know It's Christmas Time at All".
I'll take the lovely sound system in white, as in pure like drifted snow.
I'd love to be playing "Santa Baby" by Eartha Kitt on a beautiful black sound system...ahhh, the dream...*sigh* :-D
i'm dreaming of a white (i mean red Geneva Sound System) Christmas ;)
The theme song for Polar Express by Josh Groban - Believe
"Greensleeves"
I know it's only a X-mas song when it's known as "What Child is This?" but it's such a sweet melody...black please?
The song would be none other than "Christmas in Hollis", by RUN D.M.C., and of course the color would be red!
White Christmas, by Bing Crosby, of course, on a clean, white one!
I think it would be the 2046 soundtrack. And I might have to drink whiskey and listen to it loudly, then softly, and again... on the red one.
And then I'd probably have to start dancing tango again.
How cool is this! I would take any color! And I will be playing my favorite holiday song
"Baby, It's Cold Outside" By Bing Crosby and Doris Day.
I would love to gaze at my black Geneva sound system while I relax to Vince Guaraldi's "Christmas Time Is Here" (and the rest of A Charlie Brown Christmas, which I confess that I will listen to well after Christmas)
Winter Wonderland-
Red
The Christmas Song by Mel Torme would sound fabulous coming out of this system!
I think black would be a perfect color!
White Christmas by Bing Crosby. Red, please
We're not super into holiday music--maybe Careless Santa by They Might Be Giants?
Black would be fabulous.
Santa Claus Come Straight to the Ghetto - James Brown (RIP, he dies on Christmas Day last year).
White, please!
that'd have to be guster's 'donde esta santa claus,' blaring out of the white system...as palm trees light up the night.
A Charlie Brown Christmas!
red
At our place, it's the Ramones all day and all night because that's what gets the kids dancing. OK, for Christmas we'll get out the Charlie Brown Xmas soundtrack. While dancing, our little guy fell and sliced his eyebrow on the sharp corner of the media stand that holds our hopelessly old-fashioned garage sale media cornucopia, and I'm thinking if we get the red one, we can ditch the whole collection and sit this hot little number right on the floor!
On any color:
"Merry Christmas, Baby" by Otis Redding. ("Feel mighty fine 'yall, I got music on my radio...ho,ho,ho.")
i love it! it's like a shiny red toaster for CDs.
Happy Christmas (War is Over).....in red!
It would have to be "Only at Christmas Time" sung by the woefully underappreciated Sufjan Stevens.
And definitely red.
I would swoon over any of the three, but I guess white would be my pick. And, what would I play on it? Silent Night, The Temptations' version...
Christmas Time is Here, from the A Charlie Brown Christmas album by Vince Guaraldi.
White, please.
Oh, I'll probably be listening to Sufjan Stevens's Christmas album, or else a traditional Christmas carol album that my mom loves to sing along to when she visits.
I like the red one.
Thanks!
Oh please please please pick me. I would listen to Ave Maria by Chris Cornell on my white one.
"Footprints" by BareNaked Ladies. It's soft and romantic and actually sort of sad, and about as far from "traditional" as you can get. By far my favorite Christmas song of all time.
"I followed footprints in the snow
never knowing if i was right behind you
looking down, no one would know
I wasn't walking hand in hand beside you..."
For that matter, I suppose I'd be playing BNL's whole Christmas album on the system, most of which is considerably happier and bouncier (not to mention more traditional). But that's the one I'd play first.
And I would have to go with black since it goes with everything and my taste in furniture is, shall we say, eclectic.
I'd play 'A Christmas Carol' by Tom Lehrer, if only because it's fun to sing along to. And black, please.
I'd love to play Josh Groban singing 'What Child is This' from his Noel CD this holiday season. Black would be awesome.
'The Christmas Song' by Nat 'King' Cole. It's absolutely my all time favorite holiday song.
I have a Phil Spector Christmas CD that's pretty great... is that sacrilegious this year?
"What Child Is This?" -Vince Guaraldi Trio ("A Charlie Brown Christmas").
Black Geneva, please...
Cool. A Red Toaster to warm my CD's.
I love it.
As a christmas nutcase, I need this to play my tunes, christmas anything. My neighbours will forever be in your debt as this would drown out my 'can't hold a tune in a bucket' singing. Red is hot, thanks. Ho! Ho! Ho!.
Red! It's gorgeous. I'll use it for Sujan Steven's entire Christmas album because it's so earnest.
I'd be playing Sufjan Steven's version of "The Little Drummer Boy." And red is my color of choice, thanks!
Wow probably the most coments posted on AT to date, must be a record. I could I not pass up the chance to win this sound sytem, since I just asked Santa for my first Ipod. I will be playing any Christmas song from Manheim Steam Roller on the classic black.
So many to play! I would start with "Little Drummer Boy" by Bing Cosby and David Bowie, next "I Got My Love to Keep Me Warm" by Kay Starr, then move on to "Baby it's Cold Outside" by Rod Stewart and Dolly Parton (my favorite version!), followed by the version of "Sleightride" they played on ER many, many years ago, and for fun the Merengue "Alegrias Navideñas" by Johnny Ventura. For drama we end with Handel's "Mesiah".
Black please!
LITTLE DRUMMER BOY by (Mr. Christmas) Johnny Mathis! Basic white, please!
Linus and Lucy
Red
I would be playing the first noel.
I would like it in white or black.
"Happy Xmas (War is Over)"- John Lennon, Yoko Ono
And so this is Xmas
For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones
The world is so wrong
And so happy Xmas
For black and for WHITE (sound systems)
For yellow and red ones
Let's stop all the fight
A very Merry Xmas
And a happy New Year
It would be a good one
if you picked me!
I'd play "All That I Want" by The Weepies. My preferred color is red.
I'd love to hear Jason Mraz's take on Winter Wonderland on the red one!
I'd play I'll be home for Christmas and I would like it in black. Thank you
A Charlie Brown Christmas is my daughter's favorite. Red would be great!!
I'd play Sufjan Steven's version of "O Come O Come Emmanuel" probably.
White would work best for me.
Excellent!
Diana Krall's Christmas Album! White sounds good.
We'll be singing some "Dreidel, dreidel, dreidel" but might just update it to include "I made you out of red lacquer..." if you choose me!
i'd definitely play anything off the take 6 - he is christmas cd!
and white would be best... to match my ipod and my kitchen!
White would look perfect in the baby's room. We'd play Barbara Streisand's Christmas Album. Her version of Jingle Bells is the greatest!
Bells Will Be Ringing by my favorites The Eagles
Love the black one!
New place to live, with soon-to-be-new aqua walls, black and white fabrics, medium brown woods, and hopefully some pops of red and silver, provided by accent pieces and this gorgeous sound system in RED RED RED!
I'll be in my kitchen, listening to the Morten Lauridsen "O Magnum Mysterium" (and absent-mindedly singing the alto part) while making Krispy Kreme bread pudding and Salty Oat cookies, so long as I win this. Come on, it's an awesome image. Make it work! :-D
Just about any Christmas song would sound great on the white one, but if I have to choose...Do they know it's Christmas...it still gives me goosebumps the first time I hear it every season.
We're gonna listen to carols in french that we were forced to learn in high school and can't get out of our heads -- "Un Flambeau, Jeannette, Isabella" and "Il est né le divin enfant." To keep it properly indie, we might have to listen to Sufjan Stevens' christmas album as well.
The black one would be lovely, thank you.
"put the lights on the tree" by Sufjan Stevens on zee red one, please.
Oh I would really love this in White, I would be listening to
Carol of The Bells by The Bird and the Bee...oh please!!! : )
Red gets me where I live... Would go old school for the tunes, though, and play Good King Wenceslas, which my almost 3-year-old daughter knows by heart and has been singing since August!
I want. Very much please.
Well, my kitchen is orange, but with something that wonderful I bet I could even make it work in red, but black would be best - to match all the appliances. I'd be listening to Andrea Boccelli's Christmas Glory from Westminster.
A black one in my kitchen would be so pretty - to play The Roches Christmas album; my favorite song on there is probably The Holly and the Ivy or We Three Kings...
Linus & Lucy, by the Vince Guaraldi Trio.
I'd love to have one in red!
I would love a white one and I would play my boyfriend's 'Christmas Awesome' mix cd - favorite track: 'Christmas in Hollis' by Run DMC.
"christmas time is here" from the charlie brown christmas soundtrack on the white one!
I'd play the theme song from a Charlie Brown Christmas, and it'd be on the red one, for sure!
I would definitely be leastening to Santa Claus by Alabama
and I would love it in black!
one little christmas tree, stevie wonder=best christmas song ever.
I would play a couple of favorites on a red one:
"Christmas, Baby Please Come Home" by U2.
"Gabriel's Message," by Sting.
"Santa Claus is Coming to Town" by U2.
"Yo Ho Ho" by Klark Kent!
I will be listening to Jimmy Smith's Christmas Cookin' album.
Red please.
White Christmas...though I'd love one of these in black!
""I'll Be Home For Christmas" by Perry Como.
I would love this in Red...thanks
There's only one x-mas song for me: Judy Garland singing "Have yourself a merry little Christmas"...
I would play" I'll be home for Christmas" I really miss my family. but the song would help on a beautiful black player!!! Thank you !!! Connie
I'll be playing Santa Claus is Back in Town by Elvis. I would love the white one!
It would be,
my boyfriend and me,
sitting by the Christmas tree,
chatting and sipping wine,
just having a good time,
listening to Josh Groban sing O HOLY NIGHT,
and knowing that this is all right
because of my new amazing Geneva Sound System
in the most beautiful color WHITE!
I love Madonna's "Santa Baby"! Loved it as a kid and still love it now .. and her too of course. :)
Closing of the Year - Wendy & Lisa
Christmas All Over Again - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
... would sound perfect on a black one.
PLEEEEEEEZE Pick ME. Choose ME....Give it to ME !!!!
The red one is a perfect feng shui touch to my green kitchen. And besides, my mother is coming for the holidays and I will need to prance and dance and have lively music just to cope !
And I'll play all the old songs that bring back the happy memories of my childhood Christmases and the ones of our children.
lcg
I am extremely ambivalent about Christmas in general.
On the one hand, I love the smells of pine and cinnamon, and am so enthusiastic that I begin my shopping on the day and weeks after the 25th and finish my shopping before Thanksgiving. On the other hand, I am so irritated by it that I never decorate my apartment, or step foot into any store (besides the grocery store) between Thanksgiving and Christmas in order to avoid the crowds, the tinsel, and frazzled vibe that spreads like a disease. And, of course, I've never left the house on Black Friday, because I have such a dread of the madness that this day signifies-- including the beginning of the Christmas season and the over-the-top commercialism it signifies to so many consumers.
My relationship to Christmas music is equally ambivalent. Within a few weeks, I get so aggravated by the motion-sensitive Dancing Santas and canned music that I want to scream. But, I also find myself longing to hearing the familiar songs with their comfortable nostalgia. There is nothing like a cold day spent in a warm kitchen, preparing a labor-intensive and love-saturated meal, with family and friends-- and, yes, appropriate music.
In my case, I have found a happy holiday mix that begins with: Happy Xmas (War Is Over) by John Lennon, that segues into some Beatles albums, then into Over the Rhine's non-traditional, but smoky, indie-rock flavored folk CD "Snow Angel", before letting someone else have the stereo to play the more traditional mixes.
If I had this stereo, I may have the pleasure of having full control over the music it plays (as it will be mine, as opposed to always "borrowing" the sound system... which I have always done because I don't own one); and it would be delightful to test out the far edges of my music library on it: from classical to punk rock, electronic to folk when I'm not succumbing to the holiday music urge. It could be my Christmas stand-in for my decoration-less apartment (in red, or course)... and may even inspire me to put some other festive accents next to it!
All I Want For Christmas Is You by Olivia Olson in RED!
about a dozen people already mentioned the same song by eartha kitt that i was going to pick, but there it is: santa baby...and coming from an "apple" white geneva would be more than lovely.
Easy! That's PAS/CAL, "I Wanna Take You Out In Your Holiday Sweater"!
This would look terrific in white, particularly in my brand-new basement/lounge.
This is awesome. I'd love to decorate my Jewish Christmas tree while listening to Woody Guthrie's "Happy Joyous Hanukkah" and "Noel" by Josh Groban. Neither one of my parents wanted to convert so we made our own traditions while still being respectful to both religions. ;), Even though they aren't around anymore, I plan to keep the wacky mixed holiday celebrations alive this year and when I have kids someday.
I would love this in black. :)
Oh, no contest! The best Christmas album ever is Anne Sofie von Otter's gorgeous "Home for Christmas" A mix of Swedish Christmas music and familiar favorites, it's the only Christmas album I ever actually purchased (after hearing it on NPR a few years ago). I've even been known to listen to it [*gasp!*] AFTER Christmas! I'd love the white one, please, which would look lovely glinting in the light from the 20 or so candles that I'll light around my living room when I host my New Year's open house.
I would play "Snow" from Loreena McKennitt's A Winter Garden: Five Songs for the Season. Her wonderful voice gives the song—and the entire album—a wonderful old world feel. What a great reminder of how precious the earth is, how magical nature can be, and of the quiet that snow can provide (even in nyc), allowing us to take a pause and remember the simplest of pleasures cannot be bought. The lyrics are below, from the poem by Archibald Lampman.
(And red is the perfect color for EVERY season!)
SNOW
Lyric: Archibald Lampman (1861-1899)
Music: Loreena McKennitt
White are the far-off plains, and white
The fading forests grow;
The wind dies out along the height,
And denser still the snow
A gathering weight on roof and tree,
Falls down scarce audibly
The meadows and far-sheeted streams
Lie still without a sound;
Like some soft minister of dreams
The snow-fall hoods me round;
In wood and water, earth and air
A silence everywhere
Save when at lonely intervals
Some farmer's sleigh, urged on,
With rustling runners and sharp bells
Swings by me and is gone;
Or from the empty waste I hear
A sound remote and clear
The barking of a dog, or call
To cattle, sharply pealed,
Borne echoing from some wayside stall
Or barnyard far afield;
Then all is silent and the snow falls
Settling soft and slow
The evening deepens and the grey
Folds closer earth and sky
The world seems shrouded, far away.
Its noises sleep, and I as secret as
Yon buried stream plod dumbly on and dream.
I love these songs so much I listen to them year-round:
Fairytale in NY - The Pogues
Winter Wonderland - Cocteau Twins
Frosty the Snowman - Cocteau Twins
The Geneva is hot in RED!
I would definitely go with the red one, because I like adding color to the world...and I will be playing "Wizards in Winter" by Trans-Siberian Orchestra (along with all of their other holiday tunes), because there's nothing like rocking out to Christmas music!
I'll be listening to Feliz Navidad, the Jose Feliciano version. It's a tradition now with my nephew. And we'd be happy with any color, but red is my favorite.
thanks!
Oooh, pick me! White please.
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Ella Fitzgerald.
I think it's pretty much impossible for me to pick just one favorite holiday song. I love finding new renditions of holiday classics every year so my favorites are always changing. But this year "Winter Wonderland" is going to be on repeat a lot, so my boyfriend and I can get in the mood for our trip back east and his first snow-filled (hopefully) holiday!
It'd be nice to pack this little sound system (in red, of course) and bring it with us on our trip so we can have wonderful winter-y music in our hotel room too!
Red please, to go with my red lacquered kitchen chairs!
Blue Christmas would be my song of choice!
Any version of Carol of the Bells.
White please!
And thanks!
Eeking across the finish line first is Manheim Steamroller's version of "Greensleves." More than any other song, that tells my body and soul that the holidays are here! And for the sound system, I would choose Black (although the red is absolutely amazing!).
Odetta song - Mary had a baby. Nearly brings tears to my eyes.
Red please.
I would play Nat King Cole "The Christmas Song" in the gorgeous red!
Carol of the Bells. I fell in love with this song many, many, many, many years ago. I am 78, so you get the idea. When I start playing Christmas music each year, that is the one I always start with. A red Geneva Sound System in the middle of all my Christmas decorations would be great, especially if it was playing Carol of the Bells.
A red one for my "Sleigh Ride," please.
Candlelight Carol - J. McManners
Black please.
Red red red....
Playing would be the sublime, the lush, and gorgeous
"Silent Night" sung by the incomparable Leontyne Price
followed by
"Christmas Time is Here" from A Charlie Brown Christmas
Mommy will really be kissing Santa Claus if she gets a red radio for the kitchen!
Oh Santa Baby, I want a Red one under MY Austin tree.....
Happy Christmas to all.......
Fairytale Of New York-- you can't find a more romantic, festive song to get you in the spirit...
Over and over and over again
Red's my first choice, but white or black would do just fine!
All I want for Christmas ---Mariah Carey
White please!
i'd be playing "just like christmas" by low - on a white model.
if you've ever heard the song you know how infectiously poppy and beautifully evocative it is.
and white goes with everything.
John Prine's "Christmas in Prison."
Red delicious!
Little Saint Nick by the Beach Boys. I would like a white one please!
I would play John Cougar Mellencamp's "rockin in the usa". Gets me in the Christmas spirit to know what a great country we live in! And an old school song to go with an old school look of a system.
Any color please!!
Alvin and the Chipmunks, one a black one!
With my new BLACK Geneva Sound System, I was hoping to play a little bit of Sufjan Stevens' Songs for Christmas, particularly "Come Thou Fount Of Every Blessing"; perfect for this time of year. :D
This poor student [I was dollar-store girl in the Chron, after all :-)] would LOVE to play this week's new free download on iTunes _Carol of the Bells_ on a sexy black Geneva Sound System.
A few songs come to mind, but in that fiery Red, Mele Kalikimaka tops the playlist!
the waitresses' "christmas wrapping", and i'd like mine in totally 80's hi-tech black.
my irish side always draws me to playing (and singing my head off) fairytale of New York by the Pogues and Kristy MacKall.
and I'd loooove it in black.
btw, can out of the country AT lovers take part too? (may as well give it a try, that would make my xmas).
I'd like to hear June Christy's "The Merriest" on the red box :)
White, please!
It's cliche and probably uncool, but the first song I'm going to pipe through those speakers is Bing Crosby's version of "White Christmas" .
I'd probably play Baby, It's Cold Outside - I absolutely love the back and forth in this song, one of my all-time favorites.
The black version would look oh-so-sharp in my wee little house!
Last Christmas- George Michael
Black please!
Santa Baby, bring me one down the chimney tonight!
Black please, thank you!
If we won one (preferably red), my wife would also love to play "Christmas Is All Around" from "Love Actually."
I would play "white Christmas" by Bing Crosby...reminds me of my childhood...and i would love to have one in red !
i would play "white christmas" by Bing Crosby...reminder of my childhood...and i would love to have one in red !
I'd be dancing around the living room to Sufjan Stevens' Sister Winter. The red would be a wonderful addition to the pops of red I already have going on.
I would play "Come on! Let's Boogey to the Elf Dance!" by Sufjan Stevens...gotta love that little guy and his wonderful voice.....love him and love this in white....thanks for a great site!
The Ramone's "Merry Christmas (I Don't Want to Fight Anymore)" played on a white Geneva would make my holiday!!

Definitely 'Fairytale of New York'
The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl
RED!!!
I would love to listen to 'White Christmas' on the white one. It's lovely, thanks for the contest!
It would have to be "Blue Christmas" by Elvis Presley wailing out from a black Genova, since my inner art school student won't ever fade away.
:)
Leon Redbone & Zooey Deschanel singing "Baby its Cold Outside."
Red please!
Glenn Gould's Golberg Variations. We don't celebrate Christmas, but we always like good music!
And in red! Of course!
Darlene Love singing "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" on a RED one of these...so perfect.
White one.
I will be listening to Robert Earl Keene's
Merry Christmas from the family.
"St. Stephens Day Murders" by The Cheiftans - I'm forbidden to play it around extended family during the holidays. It's not Christmas for me until I've listened to the Bells Of Dublin CD.
Red please, looks like they've found my perfect red!
"Santa's back in town" by Elvis, on a red one!
I'd be listening to The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole on a black one. :)
...or Christmas song by Nat King Cole, really... or any Charlie Brown Christmas song.
I love Christmas music! XD
I'd choose black, and then I'd play SNOW from the holiday movie WHITE Christmas!
my seven year old son nolan is just getting into old school hip-hop (because the unicorns and beck are SO 2006), so i will be playing "christmas in hollis" by Run DMC for him. not only will he love this song for what it is, he will love that it's about queens! we moved up to new hampshire from queens, ny a couple of years ago and he's been nostalgic for the old hood.
color of choice? red!
word.
Brenda Lee singing Rockin around the Christmas. Red please
"Gabriel's Message" by Sting. Red please.
White!
And at my house it's not christmas unless the ORIGINAL (i.e. no elmo) Sesame Street Christmas record. It's gotten to the point where there are some xmas songs out there for which I don't know the real words.
since I'll be spending Christmas in Florida, I'll be playing "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas". I'd like it in black, please.
I will be playing 'A Charlie Brown Christmas' original soundtrack by the Vince Guaraldi Trio on my brand new white Geneva Sound System with my little nieces and nephews gathered around the Christmas tree and fireplace.
I only have two Christmas albums: "Ella Wishes You a Swingin' Christmas" and "A Charlie Brown Christmas", and both would sound lovely on a red one!
I'd be playing the Linus and Lucy song from the Charlie Brown Christmas album on it. I'd want it in white to go with our brand new kitchen cabinets that we'll be installing ourselves this weekend!
"Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" Darlene Love
in black
In the Ghetto by Elvis Presley.
Red please.
I really like Los Straitjacket's Christmas album. And I want it in red :)
I would dance around the house with my hubby to "A Party for Santa" from Lord Nelson and enjoy my family friends during the holiday season!
white & "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" in celebration
"Christmas Wrapping" by The Waitresses, or the creepy David Bowie, Bing Crosby version of "The Little Drummer Boy".
Ba rum ba bum bum.
Red, cause I'm a redhead!
Anything from Sufjan Stevens' Christmas album.
White, please!
Christmas Wrapping - The Waitresses
Anything from the Carpenter's Christmas Portrait. OK, it may be kinda cheesey, but her voice is so crystal clear.
Red please!!
a pretty pretty BLACK one, to play Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas is You," shameful but true. And yes don't worry I live alone. I shall only torture my neighbors, not my loved ones.
I'd love to be playing "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" on the red one when my USMC husband gets into town to celebrate the holidays with me!
I'd alternate between Bing's "White Christmas" and Elvis' "Blue Christmas", and my roommate would play the cat-meow version of "jingle bells" - (which is impossible not to giggle during) - the perfect music to cover the motor noise from the color wheel we have pointed at our darling vintage aluminum tree. White would go perfectly in our mod smashup of a living room.
Red please, playing the Scissor Sisters' cover of 'Comfortably Numb'.
Nice shiny black to complement my black wood coffee table!
And of course I would play Linda Eder's Chrismas CD with a repeat on the last track - The Bells of St. Paul.

I'll be playing the gorgeous music of the St. Thomas Choir of Men and Boys! And I would love it in red, please...
O Little Town of Bethlehem...Johnny Cash. Perfect for when the fam sets up the tree! I like black, for Johnny.
I'd be listening to Annie Lennox's Winter Wonderland. White would be great!
"imagine" by john lennon
(not quite "holiday music", but certainly in keeping with many of the themes of this season, thinking about peace, respecting others, taking care of the world...)
and i'd like red, please.
Wow, everyone really wants this! Wonder why... he he
I will be playing the entire Christmas Cocktails CD (from ultra lounge), which is the BEST for christmas parties! White would be the ideal choice (coordinates with the iMac)
http://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Lounge-Christmas-Cocktails-Part-One/dp/B000002UFL/ref=m_art_li_0
Unless of course I make time to pick up the Dolly Parton/Kenny Rodgers "Once Upon A Christmas" album that was a staple at my parents house growing up, then that will be on heavy rotation to my BFs dismay... (Thistle Hair the Christmas Bear, love it)
http://www.amazon.ca/Once-Upon-Christmas-Kenny-Rogers/dp/B000002X2E
My taste is sometimes exceedingly bad at Christmas, yet another reason to bring a little style into my life through this beautiful sound system.
Carol of the Bells. And always with an attempt to sing along, with varying degrees of success.
Black, most definitely.
ooooh I'd play "Santa Clause is Coming to Town" !! :D
Do they come in Black? :D
I'd love the white one, and it would be playing Nat King Cole's "The Christmas Song"
My roomate gets great amusement of the fact that my christmas music gets played year round thanks to my iTunes party shuffle setting. I think she and I would get even greater amusement out of it if we could listen to the playlist as a whole for once this holiday season--what's even better is that this fantastic mix includes some fabulous renditions of christmas classics by the chipmunks. In honor of Alvin, my favorite chipmunk, I'd love to hear it on the red one!
oooo how about a shiny red one to play "Recliner Classic" by Slick Sixty and anything from the Reliant K holiday album for my holiday hurrahs!?
I'd throw down that Paul McCartney/Wings song "Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time" , I love the keyboards on that. I'd hope to blare that song on a new WHITE GENEVA SOUND SYSTEM! (pretty please)
During the holidays I would be playing "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" by The Ronettes (an oldie, but goodie) on the black Geneva Sound System. My Mom and I love that song and it always brings out the Christmas spirit in us. Plus, it makes my Mom do a little holiday dance...maybe she has a thing for Santa Clauses?!
"Christmas in Hollis" by Run D.M.C.
The red is killer!
Rebecca
I would convert my old Chipmunks' Christmas Album to mp3 and play that, on a white box.
Geneva, the red-box speaker
It sings all the Christmas prose.
And if you ever heard it
You would appreciate it's lows (as in bass!).
All of the other speakers
Used to laugh and call it names (like tinny!).
They wouldn't let poor Geneva
Have any music plays.
Then one foggy Friday eve
Apartment Therapy came to say:
Geneva with your looks so nice,
Won't you grace my homepage tonight.
Then all of the speakers loved her
They even shouted out in glee!
And that's how little Geneva,
Arrived for me on Christmas eve!
-----
"Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"
In Red.
Rupaul - Santa Baby
"I said Tiffany not JC Penny"
Loves it.
White would be amazing in my lil nook.
Just like my Christmas tree, I would like a black one.
My mom was the parent who wasn't really into music, who even seemed a little annoyed when my dad played it. But every year when we were decorating the tree, she would get this crate down from the front hall closet. The box contained her entire record collection - not more than a dozen LPs. The one we liked best was by Bing Crosby, with the faded cover and him smiling so cheesily. So in that spirit, I'd play that album while decorating the tree.
Red!
I can't narrow it down to just ONE Christmas song! I'd be playing A Charlie Brown Christmas, Ramsey Lewis Trio - The Sounds of Christmas, The Waitresses - Christmas Wrapping, The Jackson 5 - Little Christmas Tree, The Hallelujah Chorus from the the Gospel Messiah, Mariah Carey - All I Want for Christmas is You, Jimmy Eat World - Last Christmas and of course Nat King Cole's rendition of The Christmas Song. I could go on and on...
I would love it in white.
Thanks so much!
Black, please. To go with the dirge I'd play: "In the Deep Midwinter."
Ooh, i love the red version pictured.
I'd blast some venezuelan Christmas music or in a cheesy mood put on that George Michael 'last Christmas...' song.
I would of course be listening to The Waitresses-Christmas Wrapping: "You mean you forgot cranberries too?"
and red, of course, to match the cranberries.
Hands down I would play...
"Christmas in Killearny" sung by Bing Crosby!!
It has to be the red. I'd play Hawksley Workman's 'Almost a Full Moon'.
I thought I might get snickered at for mentioning that I'd have to play The Chipmunks Christmas album, but it's apparently quite a bit more popular than I realized! I'd love one in black pleaseandthankyou. :)
i'd play the Blue Note's yuletide tunes on the beautiful WHITE Geneva system that would be just perfect in my new apartment! moving date: dec 21
merry christmas baby-chuck brown!
DC natives will know what I'm talking about. :-)
the color choice is so hard! i guess black.
Sufjan Stevens- Hey Guys! It's Christmas Time!
White!!
I will definitely be playing a mix of Dutch holiday songs (especially as it's almost Dec. 5 - Sinterklaas!) but my favourite has to be "Zie Ginds Komt de Stoomboot". So many good memories of home! It would be nice to recreate a little bit of home in North Carolina ;)
The white would look lovely with my decor btw!
I'm diggin' that red music box, for sure. And when it arrives, I'll pop in my favorite holiday CD -- "Christmas Cocktails," a smart mix of lounge-inspired production numbers by the likes of Peggy Lee, Nancy Wilson, Julie London, Dean Martin, et al.
First track I'll play? Lou Rawls' "Merry Christmas, Baby." Cocktail in hand. Candles lit.
Burl Ives -- Have a Holly Jolly Christmas
White, please!
It would be my favorite Xmas song of all time, "Christmas Wrapping" by The Waitresses!
And white would look divine next to my white iMac and white-and-red-checkered Big Boy statue!
Red, please. I have about 30 hours of xmas music (I'm very festive), but my first pick would be Mike Ireland & Holler's, "Merry Christmas, From a Bar."

. . . not too many Chanukah songs I can think of . . .
It wouldn't be Christmas without "Skating" by The Vince Guaraldi Trio. -- wintery WHITE, please.

I'm definitely NOT a Mariah Carey fan, but this is my exception, something about this song just gets to me, "All I Want For Christmas Is You". Red is the color for me - feng shui luck! Best, Adrienne
Mele Kalikimaka Maka, Bing Crosby
DOminick the donkey, Lou Monte
Santa Baby, Madonna
Ok, I'm a holiday music fanatic, listen to it all year round.
Siilllver please to match my "silver bells".
Red!
And either one of my two favorite Christmas songs:
Judy Garland singing the ultradepressing version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" (with "until then we'll have to muddle through somehow" included) or Darlene Love belting "Christmas (Baby Please come Home)" in its Phil Spector glory.
It's so amazing that I'm sure it's worth the price, but wouldn't it be nice to win it?
Sorry -- I left out the song. I'll be playing the Coventry Carol, as sung by my amazing nieces' chorus.
I would have to have the red system! I would be playing Sleigh Ride (wouldn't matter who was signing it). That is my sister's favorite Christmas Song and if I'm playing it, that would mean she would be home from Christmas.
i'd be bumpin my ma's harout pamboukjian christmas classics cd. armenian wedding singers are where it's at this (and every) holiday season...

John Wesley Harding singing I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus: http://www.johnwesleyharding.com/music/mp3s/isawmommy.mp2
How retro is that? As retro as this gorgeous Geneva Sound System and it has to be the red one - it's the Holidays after all!
It would have to be Brian Setzers 'Santa Drives A Hot Rod' and the only choice would be hot rod red.
I think I would go with a little Widespread Panic - "Christmas Katie".
I like to be surprised - red or black, please!
Happy Holidays!
red please...
my favorite christmas song... "I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" performed by Gayla Peevey. Just makes me smile!
On my new white speaker system, I would play the beautiful xmas melody my husband wrote for our newborn daughter last year..."Poopy little-bottom Girl". Its set to a rumba beat.
I would love this in mod white!
And for the song..."Father Christmas" by the Kinks!
Definitely Thrice's version of Carol of the Bells. Its an awesome take on a classic song. Love it!

I would, of course, start with Michael Franks Popsicle Toes and I Don't Know Why I'm So Happy I'm Sad to set the mood.
Then Pres and Teddy and on into endless arrangements of Little Drummer Boy just to drive us all into Christmas craziness.
Have a happy ho ho ho.

After scrolling through the comments, I am most emphatically in the holiday spirit, and jonesing to download everyone else's suggestions for a bombastic Christmas mix. That's what I'd be playing on my new red magic box.
I know it sounds like a cop-out, but I'm 100% serious. Thanks for the inspiration.
Definitely Charlie Brown Christmas by Vince Guaraldi in the glossy white !!! I'm dreaming of a white Christmas. Sorry could help myself...
Fuer Elsie in cheery red.
Baby It's Cold Outside....
White, definitely.
Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire! Red Pretty Please!
I'd play Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite. And as much as I'd like it in red, I'd chose the sound system in black.
I would love the opportunity to listen to Sleigh Ride on a nice new red system.
Happy Holiday, indeed!!
Baby Please Come Home by Bon Jovi is may all-time favorite Christmas song. I'll listen to it over and over!
White please!
"Wonderful Christmastime" by Paul McCartney because it's so aggressive and smacks of trying too hard. It's like being at a club where the DJ keeps playing songs with lyrics like "Everybody's dancing!" and "Get out on the dance floor!" but everyone just stands around looking uncomfortable. I guess I appreciate the fact that someone is trying so hard to make me have a good time. Or a "simply wonderful Christmastime."
Hands down it is Barenaked Ladies along with Sarah Mclachlan recorded backstage on the cuff singing "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen". This is the most awesome range of talent singing a most cherished Christmas Song!
Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer... on red.
Ooh, black, playing Dean Martin's Xmas ablum.
Oh wow... Vince Guaraldi's Peanuts Christmas album coming out of a gloss black Geneva for a month straight would MAKE my Christmas!

I'd love to listen to Sufjan Stevens "Put the Lights on the Tree"...actually his entire "Songs for Christmas" box set...It would sound even sweeter coming out of a White Geneva Sound System
My favorite is Vienna Boys Choir rendition of traditional Korean folk song "Arirang" played every Christmas time on NPR.
Black one, please.
That is hot! I'd definitely want the red one, and I'd listen to Ron Sexsmith's Maybe This Christmas, my favorite Christmas song.

How 'bout "Daddy Won't Be Home Again for Christmas" by Merle Haggard?
Maybe he will be if I had this little item, in red please.
Greensleeves on a red system.
Ray Charles and Betty Carter doing "Baby It's Cold Outside"...hoping a Geneva in red will help warm up the apt this winter!
I'd be playing "Merry fucking christmas" by Denis Leary on my black Geneva.
Cheers!
I would love to listen to White Christmas in the color white of course. I could sit back and enjoy the sounds and remember my parents who just passed away. I could try to make it like it was when they were here and made it such a wonderful time of year for me growing up.
Hate to say it, but Mimi's 'All I want for Christmas is you' is on repeat in my world this time of year.... and i think the red is hot!
I like it in red. As soon as I saw this stereo, one song came to mind "Last Christmas" by Wham!
-s
Liza Minnelli and Alan Cumming performing "Baby It's Cold Outside" from BC/EFA's "Home For The Holidays" CD. The first Christmas tune I play every year. It's such a hoot and sure to put a smile on my face.
Black, please.
I'd like a black model so I can listen to Type O Negative play Christmas Mourning
WINTER WONDERLAND BY DEAN MARTIN
- ALL THE COLORS ARE GREAT
I like it in white!!
favorite song for Christmas is "All I want for Christmas" by Mariah Carey
I think the guys at DWR are sick of me coming over to take a look at this and other goodies. Buy something already, they're probably thinking. :)
Black would be lovely.
I'd probably be listening to some traditional niggun, but I'm terribly partial to Ner Rishon or Chanukkah oh Chanukkah
Fun game! "Pretty Paper" by Willie Nelson wafting out of the white one, thank you very much.
I'll be playing "I'll Be Home for Christmas" (the original Bing Crosby version), since I just moved to a new country to start my life with my amazing partner. It's cold here and far away from my family, but with her, it's home. We like the red :)
RUN DMC Christmas in Hollis. Do I need to say more?
"dreidle, dreidle, dreidle" for my family
Wouldn't it be nice to not have to go out and deal with the rampant consumerism and desperate crowds? I'd rather stay, in listening to my new black Geneva Sound System with a nice glass of wine listening to Mick Jagger belt out "paint it black". A nice antidote to all the amped up cuteness. Thanks...
Eartha Kitt "Santa Baby"
in red!
mod piano-lacquered red
wow
O Holy Night...definitely. And I bet it will sound even better coming from this amazing sound system!
I would love to win this in white.
Thanks!
At the risk of coming off all snooty and anti-xmas, I have to be honest: I don't have any xmas music. So . . . the first thing I'd put on would be Lorraine Hunt Lieberson singing Bach cantatas.
I can't get enough of Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah during the season.
Definitely white.
I'll be listening to AA I want for Christmas
Please make it a white one
Thank you for the awesome contest!
With the snow/ice storm forecast for my home (Mpls, MN) for tomorrow, I think Winter Wonderland might get some humming time. But don't worry if you hate it and might be in Mpls, if you're near me, it'll be guaranteed to be unrecognizeable (and even sadder, chances are you'd still be confused even if I were singing the lyrics).
P.S. Red.
I'd like one in black to listen to the velvetty voice of Nat King Cole sing The Christmas Song.
I would play "I'll Be Home For Christmas" and I would choose black as the color. Thank you for a great giveaway!
"Fairytale of New York" by The Pogues, of course. Tilt a Guinness for Kirsty's sake.
Black. Um...maybe Red.
I would love it in white...
And it'd be playing "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)", cover by Death Cab For Cutie.
Do They Know It's Christmas? Band-aid Bob Geldof. Always a fave.
WHITE would be lovely and perfect for the season
I'd be playing the Vince Guaraldi - Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack. My fave to play while wrapping gifts.

I've been a good girl this year and I'll be listening to "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth" and I think that the Red one is the one for me.
Mannheim Steamroller will be playing on my black Geneva sound system.
I'd play "let it snow"!
I will be playing "The Most Offensive Song Ever" by Kenny and Mr Hankey from Mr Hankey's Christmas Classics. This is the best Christmas song EVER!
As the Grinch who stole christmas would mush his poor dog over extremely absurd obstacles while pulling a sleigh, I would attach those fake reindeer antlers to the Geneva and play "you're a mean one, Mr. Grinch"
-David
Oh, and I would like it in white :)
My 2 girls would want me to play Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer sung by the Wiggleworms on a fiery RED Geneva sound system!!!
Merry Christmas to all!
burn down the malls by mojo nixon
or maybe something nice off one of the john fahey christmas records
either would be lovely to listen to on a black system while baking gingerbread.
I would be playing Veni Veni (O Come, O Come Emmanuel) from the Mannheim Steamroller Fresh Aire Christmas 1988 CD on the red Geneva Sound System.
I would play the album "A Renaissance Christmas" by the Waverly Consort. My parents always played the album at Christmas time so the whole thing is inextricably connected to my entire concept of what Christmas is. Plus, it's beautiful!
Red, please :)
If I was lucky enough to have a Geneva Sound System (in red, please!), the first song I would play would be "Frosty the Snowman" by the Ronettes.
Why that system is red hot in red -- and would make a fabulous statement in my very blue kitchen .
I'd love to dance around the kitchen this Christmas listening to the Leon Redbone/Zooey Deschanel version of 'Baby It's Cold Outside' from the movie 'Elf'.
Maybe while drinking mulled wine and decorating snowflake cookies.
:)
White Christmas... on white... of course. :)

Jingle Bells by the Singing Dogs.
Red, please.
awesome looking device, hope I win.
Lots of 'Winter Wonderland' listings, but mine will be Elvis Presley. And the system should be Red!
The Nutcracker.
I would like it in red.
The "Hallelujah" chorus seems appropriate.
I can't decide if I like the red or the white better.
Marah's "New York is a Christmas Kind of Town." I would like it in black.
Alvin and the Chipmunks Christmas Album.
White.
We would play Sarah McLachlan's version of River (from her Wintersong album).
It would be a toss up between Red and Black for me (I would have to leave the decision to Santa).
P.S. I've been good all year, I promise!
I'm itching for the white one!
Every Christmas Eve morning since I can remember, my dad has listened to the NPR broadcast of the Evensong service at King's College in Cambridge, England. The carols sung by the King's College Choir have always felt like Christmas to me, and pulling up the "Noel: Christmas at King's" CD-- which includes classics like "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" and more modern songs ("Ding, dong! Merrily on High" and "The Seven Joys of Mary") puts me in a holiday mood and makes me feel like I'm at home, even though I now live thousands of miles from my parents. I'd love to have something other than my laptop to continue the family tradition, blare out a little classical holiday spirit and send me on a mental trip home.
Volcano RED music machine, DAAhling, playing the inimitable 4-octaved Peruvian Chanteuse Yma Sumac trilling Karibe Taki . . . . to warm the winter home fires from below the equator and kick off this season's holiday cocktail party!
I'd rock the Kinks' Father Christmas before giving the black Geneva to my speakerless brother.
wow, i cannot believe you have to read all of these comments!
though my family doesn't have many traditions, my mother always put the Bing Crosby Christmas Album on the record player as our whole family began to fill the house for Thanksgiving...her favorite was "I'll Be Home For Christmas".
I moved from my hometown in the South all the way to Los Angeles about 5 years ago. I had my first Thanksgiving in my little apartment where I finally live all by myself...I went looking for the Bing Crosby Christmas Album, but accidentally bought one of Bing's radio shows that he did for the holidays...and I think I like it better!
the cd features all of the warm crackles and pops that were heard across the airwaves way back when the whole family would gather in the living room to listen to the Christmas programs...Bing welcomes the live audience and has all sorts of guests ranging from politicians to movie starlets, and everyone joins in when he begins to croon...
my little apartment was filled with Bing's voice this Thanksgiving, and since I was all by myself, I phoned my mom and sang along with Bing to "I'll Be Home For Christmas"...
(true story. the end.)
Jingle Bell Rock by Bobby Helms.
Red red red!
Mmmmmmm. I'd be listening to Pretty Paper by Willie Nelson.
I'd like it in white, please! If only it came in blue.

I will be playing Christmas music. Black is my favorite color.
I'd want the black one because my sweet sweetheat would love the black one.
We'd play our Dean Martin Christmas with Dino album for me, then A Charlie Brown Christmas as it's his favorite. And THEN something we both love, Elvis' Christmas Album! We're not crazy about the madness this time of year but these songs help us get through it cheerfully!
I can see Handel's Messiah - A Soulful Celebration blasting out of a red sound system.
I wish for one of these in white then I'd play the song that says "next year all our troubles will be miles away" and then I would hope that it was true...
Remember the mid-80s Band Aid song, "Do they know it's Christmas?"
Sure, it's had a few incarnations, but the original lineup was just such brilliance- Phil Collins, ladies of Bananarama, David Bowie, Sting, Bono- every do-gooder in the world (or at least Europe) rushing around to record the song to combat Ethiopian famine .
If I had a new red Geneva sound system, I might not even miss watching the epic music video, which is really something special.
They are all look so pretty, it will be sooo cool in the apt. I always want to buy those ipod dock for my room. Hopefully this will be a chance... (day dreaming)
In white, I would play Bing Crosby's White Christmas - always sends chills.
Oh, red!
And I would play the Nutcracker. Classic.
Black!

I think a white one would do very nicely. I would be playing George Micheal's Last Christmas. That's right. It would be so nice...
Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day, You gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special...
I would blast the Bing Crosby Christmas soundtrack with a sweet little chaser of Elvis...
All in beautiful black.

I would love red (or white!) and the song would definitely be "Santa Claus got stuck in my Chimney" by Ella Fitzgerald!
charlie brown christmas special soundtrack
black would be lovely, but I'm not being picky.
Oooh, this is hard. I'll be putting together my annual iTunes Killer Christmas Playlist. Peppered throughout will be repeat renditions of Santa, Baby (sung by Eartha Kitt, of course), 'Zat You, Santa Claus? (Louis Armstrong), Blue Christmas (who else but Elvis?), The Christmas Song (Nat King Cole) & Winter Wonderland (Ray Charles).
Give me a red one (so you'll get to see it in place when I enter the next colors contest).
Happy Holidays!
I'll be playing Aretha Franklin's "Winter Wonderland" after you guys send my new WHITE Geneva sound system. I've already moved some books over on one of my bookcases to make room. Thanks!

Oooh! I'd love it in RED!
I'd play "Baby, It's Cold Outside" sung by Ray Charles and Betty Carter.
I am a sucker for Elvis Christmas tunes so I would have to say, Blue Christmas by the King.
I would play one of the "Very Special Christmas" compilations on my white Geneva Sound System. The first one is a gas - from "Gabriel's Message" by Sting to "Christmas in Hollis" by Run D.M.C. The system would look & sound amazing on my new Friel media unit from Ikea. :)

KISS - Rock n' Roll All Nite
Oh, and I would like it in Classic Black, thanks. :-)
Definitely in black, but the song's a tough call. Hm. For a while I thought Yo La Tengo, "Winter A-Go-Go," but I think I'll actually go with Tom Waits, "Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis."

Frosty the Snowman by the Cocteau Twins
Red, since it's closest to pink!
I think a red system would look smoking hot playing "Come on a my house" which yes, is only a Christmas song because Target used it for their commercials a few Christmases back, but does mention a Christmas tree and is an all around awesome song.
Lo How a Rose Ere Blooming. Fell in love with this carol when I first sang it in choir in college. Red please!

I usually put ex-girlfriends names or people I hate for "Grandma" It's just a harmless joke! Smiles, just kidding! Please pick me and I will kindly request a "RED" one! Holiday cheers to everyone!
Michael
I would put on Auld Lang Syne. It's a tradition in my family to watch It's a Wonderful Life the night before Christmas and when the whole town sings that song in George's house at the end of the film it always reminds me what the holiday season is really all about- not the gifts, not the money, not the food, not the decorations but the love of friends and family.
I adore the black sound system.
I will be playing a Charlie Brown Christmas song and I would like it in red. :)

It's Charlie Brown for me too. How can you beat a classic? The red is lovely.
Ooh, I want one of those!
As Christmas comes up, I'll be listening to Handel and Bach, but also to my husband's collection of Christmas tracks by indie bands like Death Cab for Cutie.
I'd definitely like the RED ONE!
santa baby by marilyn monroe I like the white
Since I live 2,605 miles from home (according to google maps) I always have to hear "I'll Be Home For Christmas." There are too many good versions to pick just one. I tear up every time.
Oh, and the color is a no-brainer - red!!
"All i want for Christmas is you"
oh, the red looks so divine!
Frosty the Snowman would be the first holiday song played. Everyone loves Frosty -- He's a good guy. Rose loves red. I would get that one for her.
Santa Claus is Coming to Town. I like black.
Last Christmas by Wham or The Christmas Song by the Raveonettes
RED PLEASE
It's a very nice, simple design. I had never heard of the Geneva Sound System before. It would be nice to have one in red playing Carol of the Bells.
Happy Holidays!
In our house it's a standoff between Best of Temptations Christmas (his) and The Beach Boys Christmas Album (mine)...but we both agree on the color...red please!
Wow. All the colours look great. I think that I would have to go with the hot red.
As for the song. hmmm. Santa Claus is commin to TOWN by Fred Astaire and Jimmy Durante.
i'd love to hear a white one playing "Drop the Needle, It's Christmas" by Harry & the Potters. yes!
We would love a red one to play our favorite (and the most irreverent) Christmas song: Santa Claus is Comin' to Town, performed by Joseph Spence. It is one of the tracks on the cd 'Mas! A Caribbean Christmas Party'
If you aren't familiar with this very gutteral and slightly drunk version you must go to this link and experience it for yourself!
http://www.amazon.com/Caribbean-Christmas-Party-Jacob-Miller/dp/B0000009NT
Thanks!
well i'll be playing "Ella (Fitzgerald) wishes you a swinging Christmas." Love, LOVE her voice. I'll take the red if I should happen to be the lucky winner!

Ryuichi Sakamoto-- Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence
Christmas in Japan is more for couple thing than family and this song reminds me of Japanese Christmas. Romantic...sometimes lonely... sometimes feeling wintery....It is a beautiful melody too....This song would match with passionate Red Geneva.
i would love to play Grown Up Christmas List by the wonderful Barbra Streisand all Christmas season on none other but a white Geneva Sound System to remind me of the snow I don't get in Savannah, Georgia.
i'd love a pretty white one. have you heard barbara streisand's version of jingle bells where she goes into a manic recitation of "jing jangle"? gotta play that one. it's hilarious.
I would like a white one to play the Charlie Brown Christmas on!
Diana Krall, Christmas Songs Album.
"I'm dreaming of a white - Geneva..." :-)
I've been without a sound system for quite awhile so I would be playing, "Let's Rock This House Tonight" even though it may not be a true holiday song. I would prefer black but would take any color at all. Wouldn't give a hoot about the color as long as I can play some tunes.
Thanks for the great contest.
Definitely "Last Christmas", Wham!
I HEART this in RED.
What a wonderful daydream to distract me on this crisp winter day! I have to say, it has been great to read the comments and be reminded of so many classic great songs. I've been inspired to create a mix with all my favorites, and I'm sure I'll find some new songs based on everyone's ideas.
That said, we would simply have to test out the sound quality on our new, snow white Geneva Sound System with some lovely, moody jazz...John Coltrane's My Favorite Things, all 13:43 minutes of it. And then another looong jazz classic, not traditionally associated with Christmas except in my family, my father's favorite song of all time, It Ain't Necessarily So by Herbie Mann. It always makes me feel like getting cozy and making something warm to sip on (mulled wine, cocoa, Earl Grey, hot toddy...). And to round it out, we'd get some deep belly laughs listening to David Sedaris's odd little voice reading Holidays On Ice.
Happy Holidays to all, stay warm and cozy!
Bowie and Crosby's "Peace on Earth" of course.
Pah-rumpa-pum-pum!
White please.

A little of the classics...Burl Ives Holly Jolly Christmas, maybe some Johnny Mathis...yea. I'll take that red one if you please!

Black would look FAB with my decor, and I'd definitely play Dolly Parton's "Hard Candy Christmas," because really, what says "Happy Holidays" more than a mountain of hairspray and polyester?
Black or red like Rudolf's nose would be Ho Ho Ho! I would play the entire Nat King Cole Christmas Album...what else would do on Christmas?

Definitely "Santa Baby!" Hurry down the chimney with a black one for me! :)
At the risk of sounding a little too emo, I'm partial to Bright Eyes' cover of Blue Christmas.

I'd love black.
Bing Crosby's White Christmas in the lovely red.
But I also have to have play Mariah Carey's

I would just love to have this wonderful music maker. Since my dear husband loves Handel's Messiah that's what I would have it play. I dearly love the red, but sadly it wouldn't go with my furnishings, so I would be very happy to have the black one. Thanks so much for your generosity.
I will be listening to Santa Came Home Drunk by Clyde Lasley and The Cadillac Baby Specials. On a red Geneva sound system, I hope.

Oddly enough, 'You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch' would be playing. Over the years I've amassed so many versions of the song that I was able to put together an entire CD of nothing but this year, and it's been such a hit with my friends that I've made copies for them all! I would especially love this since I dropped my iphone (that I purchased exactly one week before the price drop) in the toilet on accident tonight. My husband said that I should say I dropped it in the "sink", but I am an honest woman. It seems to be completely shot and I am very sad about it.
However, I do still have my trusty old ipod which would look so nice and festive in the red speaker...
