Name: Adrienne Breaux
Location: Taylor, Texas
Your Pet's Name: Angus! (aka Angus-Fangus)
When did he/she come into your life?: Just over a year ago. I occasionally pet/house sit for a few clients, and he was a cat that I used to watch with his two (dog) brothers. When his owners made a move to New Mexico, they were worried about bringing him because he LOVES to be outside, and they had heard that outside cats don't last very long over there (coyotes and all).
I can't remember if I offered or they asked, but it was just decided he'd be a lot happier staying in the climate and landscape he was used to. By the time he came to me he was 13 years old and I was pretty worried he wouldn't take the move well, but he's a champ! Such a good, flexible cat. And he loves that I work from home because he can sit in my lap and get petted all day.
Where would we most likely find your pet in your home?: He's a super outdoorsy fellow actually. He honestly prefers being outside, nesting in a shady grass spot, exploring small town Texas (where I've recently and temporarily relocated) and snoozing on my patio furniture. Inside, he likes to sit on the couch besides my boyfriend and I while we watch movies or stretch out on the rug at our feet!
Pet specific features of the home: I haven't really done too much inside. He's a really, really chill cat. He's got his food and water set-up, he's got a tucked-away litter box and he's got his cardboard cat scratcher — he doesn't need much else!
What do you love most about living with your pet?: I've always wanted a cat that liked to be held and cuddled, but had always ended up with cats who, though I loved, didn't really like to be played with! Angus is the opposite; he's so loving. And pretty much every night he puts on a show for my boyfriend and I when he chases his tail, making us laugh and laugh. It's just nice to come home to someone who's happy to see you, and Angus is always that!
