Wednesday's Chronicle featured an article on shoe designer Anyi Lu's Tiburon home. What was most important to Lu? Not just shoe storage (which, incidentally, appears to be a common theme today -- see here and here) but light.
After a year-long remodel, the 1965 "California Contemporary" gained lots of light and space -- an additional 1,100 square feet, and skylights, French doors, and Shoji screen doors.
