At Home with Stylesetter Aerin Lauder

It's often difficult to create a lively room for boys that isn't too "theme-y" or too babyish. One easy way to create a strong, fun room is to go with a monochromatic palette. Elle Decor featured Aerin Lauder's East Hamptons country house and her son's room was made up in a great navy blue.

Lauder calls her style "heritage with a twist" as blue and white feature predominantly in many of her home's rooms. Her son's room features navy walls, a Gio Ponti light fixture in blue, a navy blue bed by B Five Studio and a great Warhol zebra silkscreen in blue.

To prevent the blue from looking too somber, colorful accents are thrown in, like a vivid orange floor cushion, yellow picture frame and green Yoda and Hulk.
