We've been spending a truly inappropriate amount of time with our TV recently, and we blame the Olympics. When they're over we plan to unplug the beast and take a serious TV vacation of at least one week.
Actually, the more we think about it, we'd like to take a more serious energy vacation.
What if we went (mostly) unplugged for a week or two? The TV, the computer, the microwave, the coffee pot, the lamps, etc.
We'd save a little energy, but more importantly we'd spend our free time reading, cooking, talking, lighting candles, making tea, finishing crosswords, finishing projects. The more we think about it, the more excited we get about planning this escape.
Sure, we wouldn't be escaping to a faraway destination, we'd just be escaping the TV/microwave/internet rut we sometimes find ourselves in.
So, we've got a few more sprints, dives, and spikes to watch; but, stay tuned -- we're going to do it.
Maybe you'll join us?
