This is from my AT email last Thursday: "I'm in the sunny, warm town of Los Angeles this week, photographing amazing small rooms for a new book, which I'm tentatively calling "Small, Smart & Proud: The Ultimate Guide to Small Homes" but we'll see how that feels when it gets close to done. I'm still in the middle of the birthing process. Here's a few things I've seen, the last of which is a great shopping discovery...."
"Mozza, in Hollywood, is a really good restaurant (with Mario Batali behind it, among others) that has a casual side that does pizza and a fancier side that does dishes. These pics are from the bar where we ate on Tuesday, which was surprisingly filled with little brass animals. There were tons of them and it was whimsical and beautiful.
This pic below is of Joe, the stylist, putting the finishing touches on a lovely little girl's room in Studio City that was created by Ursula's grandmother! The final pics will be in the book...
Visiting a young couple with a beautiful nursery later in the afternoon, I ran across this new Eames soft pad management chair. Complimenting them on their purchase they told me that it was a knock-off and only cost $200. I was floored. It's a really nice reproduction and totally fooled me. That InModeHome.com website is cute and minimalist. Unfortunately, you can't find out the prices for anything from the website. I was interested in the tiered tear drop shape glass coffee table.
Crappy chair. Can tell it's a fake from across the room. Not to mention it supports the Chinese economy where it's made - not the American economy where the real Eames chairs are made (go zeeland michigan) Seriously, how deep does the economy need to go before people stop shooting themselves in the foot!

Seriously, why would you want to endorse a made-in-China knockoff factory just to give off the impression of being able to afford something you can't?
It's sick, really. There is no need to sacrifice ethics for the sake of affordability.
