Each season brings some favorite cut flowers - the ones you grab immediately when you see them.
Our choice for our weekly bunch will be easy this week and next. We were just in Whole Foods (food not flowers this trip) and saw two that we really like - Cherry Blossom branches and Mini Calla Lily bunches.
The Cherry Blossoms were gorgeous, organic, really grand...
...and naturally, last a really long time. A nice sized branch selection was $9.99.
The mini Calla lily bunches are really sweet. Somehow, the large calla lilies are always just a bit too dramatic for our regular day-to-day vase selection, but these mini's are perfect. Short and sculptural, it's easy to make a nice arrangement with them. The colors are similar to the vibrant tulips and daffodils (other favorites which are plentiful now), but the shape is a bit sturdier and makes for a good change of pace. A bunch is $6.99.
Both available at Whole Foods Markets.

Ooh, lovely. They had ranunculous at Trader Joe's over the weekend as well, which are typically hard to come by. I wanted to scoop them up but was already carrying the max amount of groceries that I can handle on my bike.
ws - funny! that was the exact reason I couldn't pick up flowers on my trip today too...
I want cherry blossom branches but I can't find a vase sturdy enough to handle them. :-(
