I haven't told you where I am this [was last] week. I've been in San Francisco and now in Minneapolis, visiting with cool companies that like AT, want to meet and have Chris and I explain blogging and the blogosphere to them. Unlike your typical business trip, this one has been like a rock tour. On Monday morning, I got to tape a segment of View of the Bay in Victoria Smith's beautiful apartment (above & below)...

iPhone pic of one of Lisa Milroy's super black and white photographs on the WS walls.

And later that afternoon I got to meet Chuck Williams of Williams Sonoma and trade books with him. It was a total honor to meet the founder of a such a great, huge company, and see his pride as he told us that WS was over 52 years old this year. Born in 1915, he started the whole thing from one small shop in Sonoma in the 50's and still comes to work every day. Their offices also have really beautiful paintings and photographs of kitchen items on their walls which I'd like to photograph properly (above).

Aaaaaaah, I was even taken to Chez Panisse by my friends....

Everyday in SF, I got coffee at Cafe Fanny's and asked them why their coffee was so good. Among other things, they said, it was the coffee: Mr. Espresso...

And I got to go hiking up above Berkeley University. Stunning. We just don't have trees like this in NYC.

Tuesday saw me at a breakfast with the folks from DWR, and a tour from Chris Hope and Kari Woldrum, who sourced all of the Tools for Living, and showed me a really cool new thing their launching in November: daily sales/auctions of limited edition modern design antiques. An outtake of putting together the TFL collection, they've got dozens of unique items to let go of. Pics are on their way.

Method's offices on Commercial street are unworldly...(and clean)

In the afternoon I got to visit the Method offices and check out their disco white/smooth space. The founders there, Adam Lowry and Eric Ryan, were not there because each of their wives had given birth in the past five days, but I met Colleen and Katie and had a great time. Everyone should send Adam and Eric presents to help them deal with not sleeping for a long time...;-)

Now, I'm in Minneapolis for meetings tomorrow and I'll take more pics. However, I did get this pic tonight of a restaurant downtown. Dorothy, we're not in the Bay Area anymore....

More updates tomorrow on this AT Station.

Meanwhile, we're starting to get submissions for our biggest, best Fall Colors Contest and hope that you've got a great colorful home to share with us. Check out the contest page HERE.
