Alex Haw of Atmos has created stunning and functional staircases using computer technology in every phase of construction from design to fabrication.

Though made with the heavy use of modern technology, the undulating forms are reminiscent of those built by Antoni Gaudí at Casa Batlló in 1887 Barcelona, and are similarly intended to recall the expanding nature of trees.

Nomade Express Slee...
I feel dizzy. It's original though...
I can appreciate Gaudi's art form in just about every way except on a staircase....this could be dangerous.
That is freaking me out in so many ways. With the first one, I imagine it would be like living in a Dali painting.
Wow, my jaw just dropped. Trippy.
I LOVE this and want a home where I can have one!
In the fashion of Hank Hill - "Gahhhhhh"
I've always loved stairs, and that first set is gorgeous. It's basically usable sculpture. What could be better than that?
That first one is AMAZING.
Spectacular!
it's like seeing your stairs while on shrooms... permanently
The first one is gorgeous.
The second one looks like every picture of a 5 year-old (or a dog) stuck in between fence posts and going "Mooooom, I can't get out", except this time mom was too tired for a rescue and decided that an expression of solidarity will have to do.
pasqual: that was my first thought, too!
my second thought is that a staircase like that must be enormously cost prohibitive. which is too bad, because it's cool.
I see a broken ankle in someone's future.
AWESOME, esp the first one.
I'd kill myself on either of these! NOT for the klutz! (Cool looking but still...)
Very cool and definitely arty. just makes me feel giddy and crosseyed.
As long as the kitties are happy... :)
i have a spiral staircase fetish. this is cool!
Ditto what dhiscox said.
I need these stairs in my life.
