AT&T Offering Home Theater Installation

Looks like the explosion of HDTV flat panel sales has opened up a new world of service from a company not normally connected with the home theater realm. AT&T is now offering custom installation; called AT&T ConnecTech, the home audio/video system service ranges from $100 for consultation, upwards of $849 for the whole kit and kaboodle wall-mounting install of a display and seven speakers. A hefty $179 for just a screen mount install ($299 if your screen is more than 32", so maybe you should splurge and get that 60" and get your money's worth)...

Personally, we don't require someone coming over and programming our remote for us or even wall mounting a display (we did our own 40" screen, not to mention mount our own front DLP projector), but we could see this as a viable option for dad, mom, grandma and grandpa for a straight forward install for a home theater system that might confuse those who don't know their HD from their HDMI. But for the rest of us, we're all about DIY (or calling up a CEDIA-certified installer if we win the lottery and purchase the ultimate setup).
